According to data from the Phuket Hotels Association, twenty-seven member island properties are open as of today in the lead-up to the Thai public holidays next week.

Looking forward another fourteen hotels are planning to open in August, eight in September, eleven in October and only four in November.

With seventy-four hotels in the high-profile Phuket Hotels Association, sixty-four are, or have plans to reopen this year, while ten are still evaluating plans.

As part of the ongoing crisis, the Association under the leadership of President Anthony Lark has been hosting ongoing Zoom events online to exchange data, information and exchange best practices with the hotel operators.

The group has also launched the Imagine Phuket destination branding video with QUO that has captured a widespread audience.
