DiDi launched in Sydney Mid-March with competitive fares for riders and industry-leading service fees for drivers.

  • Eligible early-bird drivers can keep 100% of trip fares for the first four weeks after the launch
  • Riders who sign up before the launch will receive 50% off rides for the first four weeks

Didi Chuxing launched its value-for-money ridesharing services in Sydney, New South Wales, on Monday, March 16th.

DiDi entered Australia in May 2018 with a commitment to provide a safe, reliable and convenient ridesharing experience to its passengers and flexible and fair income opportunities to its driver-partners.

Currently, the Company operates across seven cities in four states, providing three services – DiDi Express, DiDi Share (carpooling) and DiDi Max (7-seater) – to Australian communities. The launch in Sydney will start with DiDi Express and DiDi Max.

DiDi’s launch in Sydney, the country’s most populous city and largest ride-hailing market, marks an important step forward in the Company’s expansion plan for Australia.

“DiDi’s driver-partners have served over 2 million riders across Australia. Introducing our services to the global economic and cultural hub of Sydney is a major milestone for our young team here,” said Lyn Ma, General Manager of DiDi Australia.

“The trust that people have in us is truly humbling and inspiring. We are eager to learn and work with all stakeholders to innovate continuously for this community, and to build a better and more trusted ride-hailing platform as a contributor to the city’s broader smart transportation program.”

DiDi is aimed at providing flexible and fare work opportunities for its driver-partners across Australia

DiDi Australia launch timeline:

  • Geelong – May 2018
  • Melbourne – June 2018
  • Newcastle – March 2019
  • Brisbane – July 2019
  • Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast – September 2019
  • Perth – November 2019
