The Hurun Research Institute found 100 self-made female billionaires from 16 countries, an increase of 11 from last year.

The Hurun Research Institute released the Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2020, a list of the self-made women billionaires in the world. This is the 10th year of the list. Wealth is a snapshot of 31 January 2020, drawn from the recently released Shimao Shenkong International Center·Hurun Global Rich List 2020.

Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, said, “The women on the Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2020 are the most successful women in business in the world. Their stories deserve to be shared and studied. What is it that makes them successful? How did they do it? I hope this list can inspire more women to become entrepreneurs.”

“China dominates yet again, with 9 of the Top 10, and 61% of the list, well above its 20% of the world’s population. There are, however, worryingly few young women entrepreneurs in the world. In the recent Hurun Richest Under 40s in the World, there were only 2 women, with the other fifty all men.”
