Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group will open a third property in China's Inner Mongolia, Autonomous Region late 2007. This is in addition to Shangri-La Hotel, Baotou opening mid-2007, and Shangri-La Hotel, Hohhot opening early 2008.

Shangri-La Hotel, Manzhouli will be located in the prime city centre area, east of Tong He Road and north of Liu Dao Road, a 20-minute drive from the airport and five minutes from the train station. Designed by Shanghai-based Eva Wang Studio, the hotel will feature 200 luxurious rooms with views of the city or the renowned Xiao Bei Lake. Each room has an average floor space of 38 square metres. Guestrooms will feature a host of Shangri-La amenities and services, such as 24-hour room service, same day laundry and valet service, coffee and tea making facilities, data ports, satellite TV, and broadband Internet access. Shangri-La's exclusive Horizon Club will feature special amenities, privileges and facilities including express check-in and check-out service, butler service and a Horizon Club lounge.

A range of restaurants will be available including lobby lounge, all-day dining restaurant, Chinese restaurant, speciality restaurant and entertainment centre. The meeting and banqueting facilities will be the largest in the city, featuring a 1,500 square-metre grand ballroom, and nine function rooms with a total space of 1,000 square metres. Recreation facilities will include a health club and indoor swimming pool.

The city of Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia is China's top inland port of entry in terms of imports and exports. Situated on the Chinese-Russian border, Manzhouli accounts for 37% of total foreign trade in Inner Mongolia and 13% of China's total trade with its 15 neighbouring countries. Manzhouli is also a city of natural wonders. The area around Manzhouli is one of China's most untouched regions, with verdant grasslands, lush? woodlands and large numbers of wildlife.

"Our new hotel in Manzhouli will undoubtedly be the top five-star hotel in the city," said Giovanni Angelini, Shangri-La's chief executive officer and managing director. "We look forward to expanding further into this most promising region which has so much potential."
