Focus on ecological sustainability and social responsibility at ITB Berlin

Tourism with a vision of the future: socially responsible tourism has been on the agenda of the ITB Berlin for many years and this year, with its wide range of workshops, seminars and lectures on social responsibility, ITB Berlin (6 - 10 March) will help to raise awareness for many issues, to which the ITB CSR Day at the ITB Berlin Convention and the 14th Pow-Wow for Tourism Professionals in Hall 4.1b will make an important contribution.

ITB Berlin: Debut for the International LGBT+ Leadership Summit

ITB’s LGBT+ segment features the world’s largest exhibition of tourism products for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and diverse identities of any show in the world: from 6 to 10 March record numbers of exhibitors will be represented in this segment at ITB Berlin.

The high level of demand by new exhibitors is also proof of how dynamic this market is. The following will be represented at the LGBT+ Travel Pavilion in Hall 21.b for the first time: Ibiza LGBT, Keihan Hotels from Japan, Friendly Piemonte from Italy, the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, NewYorkCity & Company, the Malta Tourism Authority, Pink Banana Media from New York, and Thrive from San Francisco, the new LGBT partner conference of ITB Berlin in the US.

Experienced practitioners from four continents are meeting to discuss the definition of indigenous tourism and to share their visions.

Indigenous tourism will be one of the topics at the ITB Berlin Convention for the first time. Behind the title “The art of creating committed and sustainably authentic indigenous tourism experiences” is the desire on the part of the providers of specialist tourism to benefit from tourism and present themselves to visitors as authentic and self-determined.
