Dubai’s Dynamic Tower Hotel: Top 7 facts

After being in the pipeline since 2008, the new Dynamic Tower Hotel is set to be constructed by architect David Fisher at Dynamic Group, at a total cost of Dh 2 billion and incorporating 80 floors, the 1,378ft tower will enable each floor to move independently, with the ability to fully rotate in three hours.

1. Although the location for the tower has not yet been confirmed, it is hoped the project will be complete in time for EXPO 2020.

2. The project will incorporate both apartments and hotel accommodation, and will become the first rotating towers, with floors attached to a central support. Voice-activation will become embedded, so floors can move at the visitor or owners request.

3. The mixed-use building will also house retail space, attracting further tourism, in addition to parking for residents, besides swimming pools and gardens.

4. Building materials will be prefabricated and constructed in a factory and shipped over, at which Dynamic Group will aim to build each floor in six days.

5. Embedded renewable energy features will be installed, such as wind turbines which will help power the movement of each floor as it rotates, in addition to utilising solar power for electricity in order to run the building.
