2017 was a spectacular year: HVS has released the findings of its annual Hotel Valuation Index, which reveals that values across Europe grew by 3.9% in 2017, a vast improvement on the previous year when on average, hotel values stood still.

While Paris, London and Zürich remain the most highly prized cities in terms of hotel values, the HVI reports strong gains in Lisbon, St Petersburg, Moscow and Madrid.

Currency fluctuations meant that some markets showed decline in euro terms, but overall with European hotels showing strong performances investor interest is likely to continue, particularly in Eastern and Southern Europe.
