China’s Tourism Sector (2017)

As China’s economy transitions from manufacturing growth to broader-based domestic services, the tourism industry is entering a phase of exponential epansion. Tourism is also shifting from mass-market group tours to individualized experiences. In order to broaden growth into rural and underpopulated areas, the central government is also enacting policies which support B&Bs, sports and wellness, and poverty alleviation. As an investment category, high-end tourism has now been upgraded to “Outperform”.
