Hospitality-sector leaders are establishing an organisation that will develop skills for employees working in the industry;
Zaabeel Palace Hospitality is launching the UAE Hospitality Union to position the country as a world leader in the sector, it said on Thursday. The group provides services to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the Royal family.

Hospitality employees must "strengthen the education sector, establish national brands specialising in hospitality, support the industry to gain a foothold in the regional and international markets, and offer professional trainings to UAE nationals," said Ahmed bin Hareb Al Falahi, the general manager of Zaabeel Palace Hospitality and president of the Dubai World Hospitality Championship.
"The trainings will enhance their creative skills, enabling them to compete globally while promoting UAE's traditions," said Mr Al Falahi.
The union is the first of its kind and will play an important role in strengthening tourism to the country, officials from the hospitality championship said.
The
Dubai World Hospitality Championship which will be held in the World Trade Centre, Sheikh Saeed Hall at the date of October 30 until November 3, 2014.

The event will include programs, activities and competitions highlighting the authentic cooking representing Emirati culture. This event will be promoted by the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The event is designed to introduce the culinary traditions of the UAE's in order to teach the younger generations about our hospitality, the event will also include workshops for cooking focusing on the rich traditions and the unique life of the area through the tournaments.
The Heritage Village attendants will also participate in many activities where visitors will have chance to see lovers of culinary professionals and amateurs as they vie to prepare dishes that reflect the skills, components that lie behind the great taste of food in UAE and the Gulf.
Event will also include competitions involving craft creations and folk industries in UAE and the GCC countries.
