
The hotel market Dubai is exploding: within the next three years 63 new hotels will be added to the currently 416 existing hotels.
This data has been revealed by a study from TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of global b2b hotel data.
Thereof the current number of hotel construction projects in the Arabian trade and tourism metropolis is higher than last known. In total more than 21,000 new hotel rooms will enter the market within the next three years.
Currently 416 hotels with about 80,000 rooms are in operation in Dubai. Thereof 159 properties are upscale hotels (luxury/first class), 66 properties count as mid-comfort hotels and 191 properties are classified as low-budget.
Especially the number of luxury hotels is further increasing – and thereof the range of ambitious employments. In August the Palazzo Versace in Dubai will open its doors, a fairytale palace with 217 rooms and suites. The exclusive luxury hotel group Taj plans the inauguration of its new 400 room property in Dubai in spring 2015.
Also the top brand St. Regis by Starwood Hotels & Resorts will enter the market with two new properties: a 241 room hotel in mid-2016 and an exclusive serviced apartment property with 80 suites in early 2017.
