Thus hotel investments have slowed down, yet according to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the world´s leading provider of hotel construction lead data and hotel chain information, 37 new top hotels with more than 10.000 rooms throughout Egypt are in the pipeline.

One of the priciest resort projects is the Ritz Carlton Marassi Beach (right): the 170-room super luxury hotel should cost 1,75 billion US-Dollar. Developer will be Emaar Properties. The opening is scheduled for December 2013.

The Resort near El Alamein on the Mediterranean Sea will feature 50 luxury villas as well as a world-class golf course. Furthermore a six kilometre sand beach is at the guests' disposal. The airports in Alexandria and El Alamein offer good air connections to Europe.

The Dubai hotel chain The Address plans a retreat in Marassi (40 units, Opening Mai 2014, TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 7089) as well as a Golf & Spa Hotel (129 rooms, Opening early 2014, TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 7091).

One of the largest hotel projects in Egypt is the construction of the Radisson Blu Sharm el Sheikh Lagoon. The 970-room resort is scheduled to be inaugurated in July 2013 (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 12843)

Furthermore five hotels will be built at the Southern Sinai in the famous Sharm El Sheikh vacation region. The first hotel will have a capacity of 444 rooms, completed by the country's largest water park, maybe even the largest in the Middle East. The opening is planned for October 2013. The other four hotels will be built on a 800,000 sq. mt. area directly located on the banks of the Red Sea in Sharm el Sheikh, three hotels with about 3,300 rooms as well as a boutique hotel with 200 rooms.

Additionally a 42,000 sq. mt. lagoon is nestled between the beach, the promenade and the hotels. The completion is set for 2015.
