Approximately 4,000 additional hotel beds seem not be sufficient for the influx of visitors – 44 new hotels in Turkey's construction pipeline.
Tourism in Istanbul is booming. With a two-digit growth rate of overnight visitors the 100,000 available hotel beds are not enough to cater the strong demand. In the coming two years 18 new first class and luxury hotel with approximately 4,000 beds will open their doors in the cosmopolitan métropole at the "Bosporus".

During the first half of this year 4,2 million tourists travelled to Istanbul. This constitutes an increase of 18,7 per cent compared to the previous year. Most visitors came from Germany, followed by Russia, the USA, France, Great Britain and Iran. Istanbul is considered one of the ten most popular conference destinations.

Several prestigious top hotels have opened their doors this year, among them the Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus (212 rooms) and the Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Ora (278 rooms). The hotel chains Le Méridien, Renaissance and Rixos also expanded their international portfolio with new properties in Istanbul.
