Wyndham announces 16 hotels in India and Indonesia.

Wyndham Hotel Group signed deals for 16 hotels throughout India and Indonesia and announced the launch of the extended stay Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham® brand in India.

Asia-Pacific (APAC) is now the second largest region for Wyndham Hotel Group, with over 540 hotels currently open and operating. From June 2005 to June 2012, Wyndham Hotel Group's portfolio in the region grew rapidly from 57 hotels to 541 hotels. The region has seen more than 110 properties open over the past 12 months and the Company plans to continue its aggressive APAC expansion.

Of the 16 hotels announced today, 12 will be opened in India under the Days Inn®, Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, Howard Johnson® and Ramada® brands and four will be opened in Indonesia under the Howard Johnson and Ramada brands.

The hotels due to open in India are the following:
  • Days Jodhpur Chopasni
  • Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Amritsar GT Road
  • Howard Johnson Bhubaneshwar Bomikhal
  • Howard Johnson Hyderabad Banjara Hills
  • Howard Johnson Tirupati Settipalli
  • Howard Johnson Lucknow Gomti Nagar
  • Howard Johnson Mumbai Andheri
  • Howard Johnson Shirdi Nimgaon
  • Ramada Jamshedpur Bistupur
  • Ramada Encore Kolkata New Town
  • Ramada Trivandrum Palayam
  • Ramada Chennai Egmore

These properties will add to Wyndham Hotel Group's 16 hotels already in operation and the 15 properties currently under development in the country.

In addition to these 12 deals, a new Ramada resort in Udaipur opened recently with the first 72 rooms. The additional 48 rooms are to be completed by December 2014.

In Indonesia, Wyndham Hotel Group will add the following hotels:
  • Howard Johnson Bali Benoa
  • Howard Johnson Surabaya East
  • Howard Johnson Makassar Central
  • Ramada Bali Lake Buyan
These properties will join the Hotel Group's three existing hotels in Indonesia.

Deals were struck in India with Unique Mercantile India Private Limited to open the six Howard Johnson hotels, the same group with which Wyndham Hotel Group signed a non-exclusive development agreement earlier this year to launch the Howard Johnson brand in India; with DJB Infrastructures & Developers India Private Limited to bring the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham brand to the country; with Hotel Holidyas Deesert to open the Days Inn property; and with Mr. Sanjiv Kapila, Ansari Estate Private Limited, Fancy Leisure Private Limited and Muralya Hotels and Resorts Private Limited to open the four Ramada hotels.

In Indonesia, Wyndham Hotel Group signed agreements with PT Benoa Citra Abadi and PT Tiara Abadi Nirmala for the new Howard Johnson properties and PT Buyan Nadi to open the Ramada Bali Lake Buyan.

The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham brand is a chain of extended stay hotels that feature spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, high-speed wireless Internet access, guest laundry, on-site business services, free hot breakfast buffet daily and evening social hours. Guests can save more when they stay longer with extended stay rates.
