THE AMERICAS 

Boyd Gaming Corporation has promoted Bob Boughner to Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer, retaining his current duties as President of the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. He has been with the company since 1976 and previously served as President of Echelon Resorts.

Johann Krieger takes over for Kemp Gallineau with his promotion to Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Gaylord Palms. He was most recently the Vice President and Hotel Manager for the property.

Jim Veil has been appointed General Manager of the Willard InterContinental in Washington, DC. An eighteen-year Ritz-Carton veteran, he had been, since December 2004, the President of Atlanta-based Twelve Hotels and Residences.

Jim Burns adds to his current role as General Manager of the JW Marriott Orlando with his promotion to Vice President and Managing Director of the Grande Lakes Orlando. He had previously served as Area General Manager of the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, General Manager of the Coronado Island Marriott Resort and Resident Manager of the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina.

Wende Blumberg has been named General Manager of the Hotel Contessa San Antonio. She had previously served as General Manager of the Mission Inn Resort & Club near Orlando, the Hilton Atlanta Airport Hotel and the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center in Gainesville. 

Kari Koskela has been named General Manager of the Metropolitan Hotel in Vancouver. He was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. and previously the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Las Vegas.
  
Patrice Malo has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of the Mont Tremblant Resort, Quebec. He began his career at Tremblant in 1993 as a Financial Analyst and, after leaving for three years in 2006, returned in July to his most recent position as Vice President of Lodging.

The Dolce Valley Forge Hotel has named Darrin Frowery General Manager. He was previously the General Manager of the Sheraton Suites Hotel in Wilmington, Director of Operations for the Lakeside Conference Center & Hotel in Princeton, and General Manager of the Sheraton Braintree Hotel in Massachusetts.

Boston's Liberty Hotel has promoted Rachel Moniz to General Manager. For the past year, Moniz had served as Hotel Manager. She had previously held various operational positions with the St. Regis Aspen, the W San Diego. Moniz also opened the Ivy Hotel San Diego as Hotel Manager.

Vincent Vienne has returned to the Sofitel Philadelphia as General Manager, taking over from Nicolas Pesty. Vienne had previously served as Room Division Director and Food and Beverage Manager for the Philadelphia hotel before taking on his most recent role as Hotel Manager at the Sofitel New York.

Axel Binneboese has joined the Wyoming Inn in Jackson Hole as General Manager. For the past three years, he had been with the Quail Lodge Resort and Club as Director of Operations. Binneboese had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa.

Thierry Grandsire has been appointed General Manager of the Grace Bay Club in the Turks and Caicos. An eighteen-year Ritz-Carlton veteran, he was most recently the General Manager of the Resort at Pelican Hill, in California.

At Chicago's House of Sax formerly known as the Hotel Sax, after running as the House of Blues Hotel, Christiane Tervoert has been appointed General Manager. She takes over from Mario Masini.

Aref Sayegh has been promoted to General Manager of the Atlantic Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The Lausanne graduate had been serving as Director of Operations at the resort for the past year. He had previously been with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for fifteen years holding various titles including General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa Jupiter and Rooms Director at the Ritz-Carlton Naples. At the Atlantic, Sayegh replaces Jon McGaunn.

Bruce James has been appointed General Manager for Cuixmala and the Hacienda de San Antonio in Mexico; the former homes of Sir James Goldsmith now run as luxury hotel properties. He was most recently with Habita Hotels as Regional Manager, based in Acapulco. He had previously served as Regional General Manager for the Hotel Deseo and Hotel Básico in Playa del Carmen and was at the helm of Quinta Real Acapulco and Casa del Mar Los Cabos.

Christian Tavelli returns to Mexico with his promotion to Managing Director at Rosewood´s future San Miguel and Artesana Rosewood Residences. He was most recently at Rosewood's Sand Hill as Hotel Manager. He had previously been at Las Ventanas al Paraiso as Resort Manager.

Steve Dorcy has been named General Manager of the Inn at Pelican Bay in North Naples. He was most recently the General Manager of the Marriott St. Petersburg in Florida.  

Rajesh Khubchandani has been appointed Hotel Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles at L.A. Live slated to open next month. He was most recently the Director of Operations for the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common. Prior to that, he was the Director of Operations for the Toronto Airport Marriott.

Malia Osterbauer has been named General Manager of the Portofino Hotel and Yacht Club in Redondo Beach. Osterbauer was most recently the Director of Resort Operations and Assistant General Manager for the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa.

Andrew Hedley has been named Managing Director for Jumby Bay in Antigua for Rosewood Resorts. For the past five years, he had been the General Manager of the Carlisle Bay Resort in Antigua.

The Magnolia Hotel Dallas has promoted Juan Morales to General Manager. For the past four years, he had served as Director of Operations for the hotel. He had previously served in various positions at the Adam's Mark in Dallas and the Boston Harbor Hotel.

The ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa has appointed Erin Hosler General Manager and Corporate Director of Branding and Operations. She was most recently with Andre Balazs Properties as General Manager for New York's hotel QT. Hosler had previously overseen reservations, revenue, and special services at Ian Schrager's Delano and the Shore Club, as well as for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.

Brent Truax has joined the Peaks Resort in Telluride as General Manager. For the past two years, he had served as General Manager of the Mirbeau Inn & Spa and as Vice President of Resort Operations for the parent company. Previous posts include General Manager at Canyon Ranch in Tucson and the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in New Hampshire.

Philipp Kainbacher has been appointed Chief Development Officer of Luxe Hotels and Luxe Worldwide Hotels. He is a former Managing Director of PK Capital Partners.

The JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts Miami have appointed Florencia Tabeni General Manager for both properties. She was most recently the General Manager for the JW Marriott Miami.

Jose Munoz has joined the Hilton Mexico City Reforma as General Manager. He was most recently the General Manager of the Doubletree Cariari by Hilton in San Jose, Costa Rica and had previously overseen the Hilton Caracas in Venezuela.

Michael Hoe-Knudsen has been promoted to Regional Director of Operations for IHG Northern South America and General Manager of the InterContinental Caracas. The Cornell graduate was most recently the General Manager of the InterContinental Buenos Aires.

Drew Schlesinger returns to InterContinental as opening General Manager for the InterContinental Times Square. He once was the General Manager for the short-lived InterContinental New York Central Park South.

Florian Schutz has returned as Hotel Manager to the Sofitel New York to take over from Vincent Vienne. Schutz most recently held the position of Hotel Manager for Soho House in New York City after spending seven years at the Sofitel New York in the food and beverage department.

Caroline Dyal has returned to the Viceroy Santa Monica as Director of Hotel Operations. She was most recently with sister property the Chamberlain West Hollywood as Operations Manager. She had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Avalon Beverly Hills and Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Viceroy Santa Monica.

At the Park Hyatt Chicago, Paul Cardona has been promoted to Executive Assistant Manager – Operations. He had previously held the title of Director of Outlets for the hotel following a stint as Director of Food and Beverage at the Hotel Orrington.

Morgan Plant has been promoted with Joie de Vivre Hospitality in San Francisco to Vice President Food and Beverage, taking over from David Hoemann now Vice President Food and Beverage at Sage Hospitality. Plant had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage for the Hotel Vitale and General Manager of the hotel restaurant, the Americano. She had previously served as General Manager and corporate wine director of Mistral Restaurant and Avenir Restaurant Group, General Manager of Blue Chalk Café's flagship property, and wine director for Kimpton's Red Star in Oregon.

The Tropicana Las Vegas has appointed Thomas Recine Vice President Food and Beverage. Recine was most recently Senior Vice President of Property Operations and Food and Beverage at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. He previously spent twenty years with MGM Mirage serving in senior leadership roles at New York New York, Luxor, the MGM Grand and the Mirage.

Cristina Clifton has moved as Vice President of Food and Beverage to the Aria Hotel and Casino, City Center, Las Vegas. She was formerly the Vice President Food and Beverage for the Mirage Hotel and Casino, also in Las Vegas. Prior to joining the Mirage in 2003, Clifton had been the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Washington, DC, the Four Seasons Scottsdale, the Four Seasons Houston and the Four Seasons Austin.

Michael Pergolini steps in to replace Christina Clifton at the Mirage as Vice President Food and Beverage. He was formerly the Vice President Food and Beverage at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Wes Cort has accepted the position as Corporate Manager of Restaurant Operations for Norwegian Cruise Line. He was formerly an Area Director of Food and Beverage for Wyndham Hotels in Texas.

Maurice Fahey has joined the Hyatt Regency Curaçao as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently in a similar role at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

Julio Torres has been named Director of Engineering for the Bristol Buenaventura in Panama. He was most recently with the Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. as Director of Engineering.

David Zamarin has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Tropicana Entertainment. He had previously served as head of corporate marketing at Penn National Gaming.

Kemp Gallineau has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Sales Officer for Gaylord Hotels. He was most recently the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Gaylord Palms. He had previously served as Vice President and Assistant General Manager for Gaylord Opryland.

Elizabeth Schafer has joined Oberoi Hotels and Resorts as Vice President Corporate Sales-The Americas. A Cornell graduate, Schafer joined Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts straight out hotel school and served with them for twenty five years prior to joining Oberoi. She served in sales roles at the Four Seasons Chicago, the Four Seasons Washington, D.C., the Los Angeles Worldwide Sales Office and, most recently, held the title of Regional Director of Sales, overseeing the New York Worldwide Sales Office.

The Preferred Hotel Group has appointed Michael Osgood Managing Director, Global Sales, for Preferred Golf. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing with KemperSports at Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert.

The Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Cheryl Bennett Vice President of Travel Industry Sales, based in New York City. For the past ten years, she had been with Ritz-Carlton in various sales positions, most recently as Global Corporate Senior Director of Travel Industry Sales.

James Pedone has returned to the mainland to join La Quinta Resort as Executive Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past five years, he had been in Honolulu with the Hotels & Resorts of Halekulani as Vice President Sales and Marketing. Before heading to Oahu, Pedone had been with the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Denise Bina has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at Robert Reford's Sundance Resort. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa in Taos, New Mexico.

Terry Sullivan is moving to the Embassy Suites Palm Desert as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently in the same position at the Embassy Suites La Quinta Hotel & Spa.

Debra Klemm has joined ONE Bal Harbour as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was previously with André Balazs Properties as Regional Director of Entertainment Sales for the Standard Spa and the Raleigh.

The Westin Beach Resort, Fort Lauderdale and the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale have named David Wahba Complex Director of Sales and Marketing. He had previously overseen marketing efforts two years previously for both resorts, formerly known as the Sheraton Yankee Trader and Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotels. Most recently, Wahba had served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Westin Resort, Aruba.

Maria Elena Armenta has been named Corporate Director of Marketing at ONE Bal Harbour. She was most recently the General Manager at South Beach's Hotel de Soleil.

Tom Romans has been named Director of Sales for the Hyatt Regency Curaçao set to open in March. He has been with Hyatt for over twenty three years, most recently overseeing sales at both the Hyatt Regency Aruba and the Hyatt Key West.

Francis Purvey has joined the Shores in Daytona Beach as Director of Leisure Sales and Marketing. For the past four years, Purvey had been the Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Radisson Aruba and the Radisson St. Martin, based out of Fort Lauderdale. In addition, Purvey directed sales and marketing for the Bahia Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, and the Radisson Suite Resort on Sand Key.

Ashley Sneddon has been appointed Director of Catering at the Blackstone Chicago. She joins the hotel from the Renaissance Chicago O'Hare Suites Hotel, where she spent the past two years as Director of Corporate and Social Events.

The Ritz-Carlton Denver has appointed Steven Szenasi Director of Catering Sales. He was most recently the Director of Weddings at the Ritz-Carlton Naples.

Christian Delouvrier has joined La Mangeoire in New York City as Executive Chef. Delouvrier had previously earned four stars from the New York Times while he was in charge of Lespinasse and three when he ran the kitchen at Alain Ducasse New York. More recently, he had cooked bistro food at La Goulue in Bal Harbour and, until May, had been working with David Bouley at Secession until its closing.

Douglas Dodd has returned to Colorado as Executive Chef at the Arrabelle at Vail Square. He had previously served in the kitchen for seven years at the Little Nell in Aspen before moving to the Phoenician as Chef de Cuisine. He spent the past seven years as Executive Chef for the Hotel Bel-Air, now closed for a two-year renovation. In May 2009, he had joined the Montage Beverly Hills as Chef de Cuisine in charge of Parq.

The Hyatt Regency Curaçao has brought in Executive Chef John Pivar to oversee the three restaurants of the resort. He had previously directed the kitchens for the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club.

Sascha Lyon has been named Executive Chef for the soon-to-open W Hollywood. He spent the past two years mostly as a private chef in Los Angeles. He had also spent over four years in Keith McNally's restaurant group in New York, first as a Sous Chef at Balthazar, then as Chef de Cuisine at Pastis.

Patricia Yeo has moved to Boston as Executive Chef for the recently opened Ginger Park in the former Banq location. She had previously overseen the kitchens at AZ, and then cooked at Pazo, Sapa and Monkey Bar, all in New York City.

Richard Slutter is the new Restaurant Director for 10 Arts by Eric Ripert in the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. Slutter was formerly the Sommelier and Restaurant Manager of XI in the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue.

Josef Wagner has moved to the newly opened Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas as Director of Restaurants. For the past four years, the Cornell graduate had been at the Wynn, serving as General Manager for Daniel Boulud Brasserie and Country Club.

Peter Birmingham has joined Hatfield's restaurant in Los Angeles as Beverage Director/General Manager. He had previously served as Sommelier for Il Grano and Norman's, both in Los Angeles.

Joel Bunde will oversee rooms division for the soon-to-open Hyatt Regency Curaçao. He had previously held various rooms positions at the former Park Hyatt Carmel, the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, and the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay.

EUROPE

Jacques Stern has been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Accor. He was recently promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Accor Group.

Jean-Claude Messant is returning as General Manager to the Hôtel Métropole in Monte-Carlo, taking over from Luca Virgilio. Most recently, Messant had been appointed General Manager of the Hôtel de Crillon. He had previously overseen the Métropole for seven years after spending five years with the Groupe Barrière, first as General Manager of the Royal Deauville, then as General Manager of the Fouquet's Barrière in Paris.

As for Luca Virgilio, who had left the Baglioni London to take over from Messant in Monte Carlo, he gets to return to London, and to the very same Baglioni.

Campbell Gray Hotels has appointed Debrah Dhugga General Manager at Dukes, in London. She was most recently with GHD as Director of Retail and Spa. She had previously worked with Ken McCulloch's Malmaison and held the title of Chief Executive Officer with Tom's Companies.

Olivier Poirot has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer for Accor Hospitality. Poirot was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Accor North America, Motel and Studio 6.  He joined Accor in 1992 and served as Chief Financial Officer of Accor UK. 

Marriott's top executive in Hawaii, Ed Hubennette, is being transferred to London to run the hotel chain's London-based operations that include South England and Ireland.

Concorde Hotels & Resorts has appointed Frédérique Bordon Vice President of Revenue and Distribution. Bordon had previously served as Director of Strategy and Director of Pricing and Distribution for Sofitel Hotels.

Jean-Philippe Laugier has been appointed Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for Paris' Regina Hotel Group (Hotel Regina, Hotel Raphael, Hotel Majestic). He recently spent two years in Brazil as Director of Sales and marketing for Fasano Hotels in Rio and Sao Paulo, following ten years with Leading Hotels of the World in Paris.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Georges Baurin has been named Vice President with TCC Hotels Management. He was most recently the General Manager of the Plaza Athenee Bangkok.

Chris Tatum, a 28-year Marriott veteran, succeeds Ed Hubennette as Marriott's top executive in Hawaii. Tatum was most recently the General Manager of the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.

Uncharted Hotels and Resorts has appointed Adrian Iftene as General Manager of the Lilianfels Resort & Spa and Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant in the Blue Mountains, Australia. He had previously served as General Manager at the Lily Beach Resort and Spa and for Ocean Hotels and the Jumeirah Group.

Leon Lee has been appointed General Manager of the Grand Millennium Beijing. Former roles include General Manager of New World's China Hotel in Guangzhou, posts at InterContinental Hotels Corporate Office in Singapore, and leading the human resources team at the Venetian Sands Casino in Macau.

John Sartain has been appointed General Manager of the Marco Polo Wuhan. He was most recently the General Manager of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.

Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has appointed Ronald Nilsson General Manager of Swissôtel Kolkata, their first property in India, scheduled to open early 2010. Since 2007, he had been the General Manager of Swissôtel Düsseldorf/Neuss

Heinrich Kapfenberger has been named General Manager of the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore. He joins the hotel from the Millennium Hotel & Resort, Stuttgart where he was the General Manager.

Antonino Cardillo has moved as General Manager of the Zitahli Resorts & Spa, Maldives. He was most recently at La Plage Resort in Taormina, Sicily, as Resort Manager.

Wendy Morris has been named General Manager of the Hôtel de La Paix in Angkor. She had previously served as General Manager of Lizard Island.

Robert Rippon has been appointed General Manager of the Sofitel Shanghai Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong. Rippon has been with Accor since 1991, most recently serving as General Manager of the Sofitel Macau Ponte 16.

Jeffrey Ong has been named General Manager of the Pan Pacific Suzhou opening this month. He was most recently the General Manager of the InterContinental Dalian which he assumed after a posting with the InterContinental Hong Kong. Previously, he spent ten years with Raffles International in both Singapore and in Osaka.

Kelly Lewis has been named General Manager of the Makena Beach & Golf Resort on Maui's southern shore. Lewis was previously the General Manager of the Hotel Victor and the Grove Isle Hotel & Spa, both in Miami.
 
Christopher Clark has transferred as Hotel Manager to the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo. Clark spent the last two years in China, where he held the position of Executive Assistant Manager, Rooms, for the Ritz-Carlton Sanya.

David Williams has been appointed General Manager, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, for the Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels. Williams joined HSH in 1998 and was previously the Group's Head of Audit and Risk Management.

Eoghan McMahon has been named Vice President Hospitality and Real Estate for Siraj Capital. He had previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa and Restaurant Manager at the ToTT Asian Grill at the Excelsior Hong Kong.

Stefan Noll has been promoted to General Manager with GHM Hotels, taking over the Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah in Indonesia. For the past two years, he had been at the Legian Bali, most recently as Executive Assistant Manager after joining the resort as Rooms Division Manager. He had previously held management positions for the Club at the Leela Goa and the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

Vito Romeo has been appointed Resident Manager at the Shangri-La Beijing. He was most recently at the Aberdeen Marina Club in Hong Kong as Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage. Previously, he had served as Executive Assistant Manager at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo and at the Hotel Conrad Brussels.

Philipp Knuepfer has transferred to the Mandarin Oriental Singapore as Executive Assistant Manager Food and Beverage. He was most recently at the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi as Director of Food and Beverage.

David Nowak is now the Director of Food and Beverage at the Crowne Plaza Beijing. He was most recently with the Holiday Inn Hohhot as Food and Beverage Manager.

Lausanne graduate Matthias Terrettaz has returned to Hong Kong as Executive Assistant Manager – Food and Beverage at the Aberdeen Marina Club. He had previously helped oversee food and beverage for the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong before transferring to the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo as opening Assistant Director of Food and Beverage.        

Sedat Bugday has been named Director of Culinary at Voyage Hotels. He was most recently at the Mardan Palace in Antalya and previously Cluster Executive Chef overseeing the Hiltons Adana and Mersin.

Nick Barton has been named Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Greater China, for InterContinental Hotels Group. Prior to this role, Barton worked as Vice President of Communications & Planning of IHG's Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Amari has appointed Yasuhiro Yoneyama Corporate Director of Sales Japan. He had previously served in sales roles with Shangri-La in China and Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok.

The New World Hotel Dalian has appointed Cindy Zhuang Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently with the Mandarin Oriental Sanya as Director of Revenue Management.

Bryan Gabriel is the new Director of Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental Bali Resort and Area Director of Sales and Marketing for IHG Indonesia. He was most recently serving IHG as Area Director of Sales and Marketing – Singapore. He had previously held sales and marketing positions for the InterContinental Jakarta MidPlaza and the Crowne Plaza, Changi Airport, Singapore.

The InterContinental Hong Kong has appointed Kitty Lam to Director of Sales, Leisure. For the past sixteen years, she had been with the Renaissance Kowloon Hotel, most recently as Director of Sales.

Joyce Mang has been named Assistant Director of Sales, Corporate, for the InterContinental Hong Kong. For the past three years she had been with the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong most recently as Convention Services Manager.

Sarah Vickery has been appointed Director of Public Relations for the Four Seasons Sydney. She comes from MG Media Communications.

Johan Svensson has moved to Honolulu to take over as Chef de Cuisine at BLT Steak. For the past three years, he had been at New York's Aquavit as Executive Chef.  He had previously served in various culinary roles at Riingo in the Alex Hotel, Town Restaurant in the Chambers Hotel and Bond ST, all in New York City.

Peter Soo has been appointed Executive Chef of the Fairmont Hotel Yangcheng Lake. He was previously the Executive Sous Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Sanya and the Executive Chef at the Fuchun Resort, Hangzhou.

Matthew Helm has joined the Wynn Macau as Executive Chef. He was most recently with the Altira-Macau (previously the Crown-Macau) as Director of Kitchens. He had previously served in various culinary positions for the Raffles Singapore and the Oberoi in Sahl Hasheesh, Egypt.

Tom Samranjit has been promoted to Executive Chef for the Gateway Hotel Hong Kong. He had joined the hotel in 2008 as Executive Sous Chef after holding the same position for the Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel.

Cedric Darthial is now the Executive Chef at the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. A former Executive Chef for Silverseas, he also served on Radisson Seven Seas.

Fabien Riviere is now in Hong Kong overseeing Felix in the Peninsula Hong Kong. For the past eight years, he had been in and out of Las Vegas, serving in food and beverage roles at Mix Las Vegas, the Ritz-Carlton Las Vegas, Restaurant Aureole, and Alize Restaurant.

Eléonore Pétin has joined the Astor Hotel in Tianjin, China as Director of Rooms. She was most recently in France as Resident Manager for Intrawest Resorts & Residences at ARC 1950 Le Village. She had previously served as Director of Rooms at the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort and Sales and Marketing Manager for the former Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Robert Zogbi has been appointed Vice President of Operations for V. Continents Hospitality Group in Abu Dhabi. He was most recently the General Manager of the Grand Millennium Dubai and had previously served as General Manager and Regional Director of Operations with InterContinental Group in Lebanon, Bahrain, Sharm El Sheikh and Alexandria.

Urs Gassmann is Chief Executive Officer of Global Hotels and Resorts, after serving as Chief Financial Officer for Rmal Hospitality of Abu Dhabi. He was also the Senior Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Swissôtel from 2000 to 2002.

The Shangri-La Dubai has named Khaled Ghaleb Hotel Manager. For the past two years, he had served as Resident Manager at the Shangri-La, Qaryat Al Beri in Abu Dhabi.

Pierre Fares has joined the InterContinental Abu Soma, Hurghada in Egypt, as Director of Food and Beverage. He was recently with the Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur as Food and Beverage Manager.

Demeiter Vaubell is the new Director of Sales and Marketing for the Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay in Oman. Vaubell previously worked with Hyatt International, Hilton, Carlson Hotels and Anantara Resorts & Spas.

The Grand Hyatt Muscat has appointed Fabrizio Valdetara Chef de Cuisine at Tuscany. For the last two years, he had been at the restaurant L'Incontro in the Grand Hyatt Amman.

The Riyadh Marriott Hotel has promoted Sheriff Abdel Majeed to Director of Rooms Operations. He was most recently the hotel's Director of Service, a position now held by Ahmed Khazaleh.
