Banyan Tree Officially Opens the Cassia Bintan in Bintan, Indonesia
Situated within the Laguna Bintan integrated complex, Cassia Bintan marks the latest addition to Banyan Tree Group's new hotel residence brand ‘Cassia’. A 10-minute drive from the Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal, the property features various components, including one- and two-bedroom apartment units, Meeting Point â€" a communal lobby featuring a café and a games corner, Market 23 â€" an on-property supermarket, XANA Beach Club and a Kids’ Club. In order to infuse a flavor of Indonesia’s unique culture, each of the rooms and public areas are decorated with traditional Indonesian art created by famous local artist Adi Dharma. The resort is yet to operate at its full capacity and aims to reach 180 rooms by 2019, up from the 56 available rooms currently. Besides the resort and its facilities, Cassia Bintan also includes five low-rise buildings on prime beachfront property that consist of investment units available for sale. Cassia Bintan is the second property under the Cassia Brand after Cassia Phuket.
TRYP by Wyndham Debuts in China
Wyndham Hotel Group recently announced the opening of its first ‘TRYP by Wyndham’ hotel in China. Located along Huzhu Road within Beilin District of Xi’an, China, TRYP by Wyndham Hotel Xi’an sits in the centre of the city’s bustling business district. Popular attractions are just a quick ride away, including the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, as well as Muslim Street shops and restaurants. In addition to 95 stylish guestrooms designed for travellers, the hotel provides multiple food and beverage options, including Wyne’s Dyne, BBQ Patio and Frolyc Bar. Within 10 minutes' drive from Xijing Hospital and a short drive from the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, TRYP by Wyndham Hotel Xi’an provides easy access to Subway Line 3, Xi’an Jiaotong University, the Fourth Military Medical University, Xi’an University of Technology and Xi’an Polytechnic University.
Carlson Rezidor Signs Flagship Radisson Blu Phu Quoc Resort
Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group recently announced the signing of a management agreement with Phu Quoc Tourist Investment & Development JS Company to open the Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc. The signing marks the group’s second resort in Vietnam, following Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh Bay, slated to open in 2018. The resort is located along the Bai Dai beach on Phu Quoc island â€" an attractive tourist destination famous for its pristine beaches, rich coral reefs and tropical forests. Accessible by a 27-kilometer drive from the Phu Quoc International Airport, the resort features 522 rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant and bar, a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, a VIP Lounge, and the Casino Phu Quoc â€" the first casino in Vietnam to permit domestic entry. Set to open by Q4-2017, Radisson Blu Resort Phu Quoc is part of an integrated resort that comprises a convention center, a theater, safari and water theme parks, restaurants, retail outlets, and a 27-hole golf course.
Malaysia’s Datai Langkawi Resort Set for Massive Revamp Until 2018
Since its inception in 1993, Malaysia’s iconic rainforest and beach resort â€" Datai Langkawi officially ceased operations for the first time, earlier this month, as the property embarked on an extensive restoration project. Led by interior designer Didier Lefort of DL2A, a key member of the architectural team that conceptualized the hotel’s original design, the 10-month-long restoration project is slated for completion by July 2018. The project will include renovation of all existing guestrooms, suites and villas; construction of a Nature Centre â€" underlining the resort’s increased focus on sustainability; additional spa pavilions; a retail space; and a fitness center, as well as an overall enhancement of the landscaping. During this period of closure, The Datai Langkawi will be the first hotel in Malaysia to offer its employees advance education programs, with the launch of ‘Datai Invest in People’ â€" a tailor-made program in collaboration with leading hospitality universities to help strengthen the resort’s human capital.
Four New Hospitality Brands for Artotel
Previously a hotel management company focusing on art-inspired hotels, Artotel Indonesia has transformed into Artotel Group â€" a company with three business lines, namely hospitality, event management and curated merchandise. The four brands that comprise the group’s hospitality portfolio are Bobotel, Artotel Beach Club, a boutique Curated Collection and Artotel (which debuted in 2012). Bobotel is a budget hotel brand targeting mass market, wherein the hotels will typically be attached to commercial spaces such as malls, airports, train stations and office buildings. The first Bobotel opening is expected in Kelapa Gading this year, while the first Artotel Beach Club will open late 2017 in Sanur, Bali. Soon the group will also launch its event management arm, Artotel Project Series, which will offer consultation services for the organization of events such as art exhibitions and art workshops, as well as for businesses wanting to collaborate with local artists. With this transformation and expansion, Artotel Group aims to grow its services not only within Indonesia but globally as well.

Tourism, Hotel Investment & Networking Conference (THINC) Indonesia 2017 Successfully Concludes
Hosted by HVS, the 5th edition of THINC Indonesia, which took place on 6 and 7 September at the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, concluded on a high note. Like each year, the two-day conference lived up to its reputation of being a one-of-a-kind, premier hospitality event in the region. The conference presented two exciting days of networking opportunities, engaging panel discussions and thought-provoking discussions on the hotel and tourism industries in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
