The super budget hotel group, easyHotel is raising the bar when it comes to comfort and convenience with the launch of a new bedroom design to maximise its customer experience, whilst preserving the brand's ‘no frills' ethos.

Using customer and franchisee feedback as well as competitor analysis, easyHotel has teamed up with award-winning London architects, ZMMA, to create a simple, yet stylish and functional, bedroom space for cost-conscious travelers. easyHotel London Heathrow, which opened in December, is the first hotel to implement the re-design.

The new layout will aim to build on the existing room model with the addition of in room luggage storage, improved clothes hanging facility, shelving and space for all those 'knick-knacks' and new, more flexible, lighting options to improve comfort and functionality. Working with ZMMA, easyHotel have also introduced a new, contemporary and complementary colour scheme, which will see the hotel group significantly reduce the amount of trademark orange used in its bedrooms.

Calum Russell, easyHotel.com Commercial Director, says: "easyHotel's priority has always been to provide great value to both our customers and our franchisees. These improvements to our bedroom design recognises the feedback that we've received from our customers about how we can improve on the value that we offer. Building on the success of the current design, the new rooms will feel slightly more spacious and incorporate some simple touches to improve the overall experience ".

Adds Adam Zombory-Moldovan, Principal at ZMMA Architects: "We were delighted to be involved from the very beginning in this project to help develop the new easyHotel room design. Responding to customer feedback and with input from the hotel operational teams, our aim was to build upon easyHotel's brand values, improve functionality, look and feel as well as create a vivid and comfortable spatial identity for the brand.

"Together, we designed each element of the room with components that are unique to easyHotel. From the clean, functional lines of the steel-faced walls using a palette of warmer, softer colours; to the curved shapes of the luggage storage and mirror unit, engineered in composite materials to be durable, easy to keep clean and practically maintenance free."
