Focus is on Moscow and Sochi, while Hilton and Carlson Rezidor are main market drivers.
 
Russian hotel construction progresses at a rapid pace. During the next three years 127 new first class and luxury hotel will open their doors.

Hotel investors are thereby focusing primarily on the Russian capital Moscow (17 hotel projects) and Sochi (19 projects), where the 22nd Winter Olympics in February 2014 are going to take place.  This has been derived from a data analysis by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the leading permanent research service and online database for international hotel construction and development data.

Two prestigious hotel chains have been identified to be strong Russian market drivers: Hilton with 27 hotel construction projects and the Carlson Rezidor with 30 new hotels in the pipeline. During the coming year 51 new top hotels with 12,400 rooms will open their doors in Russia.

In 2014 a further 41 new first class and luxury hotels with 9,200 rooms are expected. According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS in 2015 and 2016 not less than 9 high-end hotels with 1,700 rooms will come onto the tourism market.

One of the most noted premium hotel projects in Russia is the Hyatt Regency Moscow (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 13366.) This lifestyle business hotel with 297 rooms (including 40 suites) and 56 luxury apartments will be located next to the Dynamo Moscow football stadium and open its doors in 2015.
 
At the Russian Riviera in Sochi more than 6,000 new hotel rooms will be inaugurated over the next two years. What kind of impact the accumulated number of available rooms will have on the hotel market after the Winter Olympics (7th till 23rd February 2014) remains to be seen.

But for the moment Russian hotel investors follow the call by president Putin and eternalize their tourism visions on the scenic Black Sea coastline.
