This technologically advanced iconic landmark will boast the world's highest observation wheel at 170 metres above ground and will serve as the signature architecture gracing Singapore's landscape.
At S$200 million (approximately US$113.9 million), the Singapore Flyer is the largest-ever foreign direct investment in a visitor attraction in Singapore and further reinforces the island's position as the leading tourism hub for Asia. To be completed at the end of 2005, it is expected to draw more than 2.5 million visitors in its first year, half of which is likely to come from overseas.

Located within the Marina central business district, The Singapore Flyer has a gross building area of approximately 16,000 sq m. The rotating 150-metre giant observation wheel has 32 fully air-conditioned capsules, each capable of handling 25 passengers at a time. Its foundation is a three-storey terminal building comprising tourist-related speciality shops as well as entertainment and food and beverage outlets. Housed on one of Singapore's finest waterfront locations along Marina Bay, this world-class icon, which offers unparalleled 45 km panoramic views of Singapore and the neighbouring Indonesia and Malaysia, is set to become the ultimate waterfront dining and entertainment themed attraction. |
