Shun Tak Holdings is excited to announce the launch of Artyzen Hospitality Group Limited (AHG), the first branded hotel management company under The Group.

Building upon 50 years of hotel investment and tourism experience in Greater China, AHG will develop a collection of its own luxury hotel brands catering to different lifestyles.

These brands will carry uniquely Asian DNA with offers and services relevant to the solidly growing travel markets such as China and the Orient. AHG will offer management solutions to hotel owners and developers, including The Group's own properties.

Shun Tak Holdings Limited has one of the most diversified travel and tourism portfolios across Greater China comprising hotel investments, passenger ferries, coach buses, travel agencies, tourist facility management, leisure entertainment, MICE solutions and hospitality training & recruitment services.

"The market is gaining sophistication at such a dazzling speed that established multinational hotel brands have difficulty keeping pace. This has created a valuable window of opportunity for us, as we have accumulated a wealth of experience in the region and insights on the consumption pattern of Chinese travelers." explained Ms. Pansy Ho, Managing Director of the Group.

She added, "Creating our own hotel brands now make total sense as it naturally complements our existing businesses, with the various real estate and hotel investments in our pipeline."

Artyzen Growth Strategy

AHG will be under the leadership of Mr. Rogier Verhoeven, Executive Director of Shun Tak Holdings Limited. "The priority is to establish flagship hotels in strategic locations and key gateway cities." said Mr. Rogier Verhoeven, a veteran hotelier who has been a consultant to the Group since year 2000, and has overseen the launching of dozens of real estate and hospitality projects internationally including MGM Macau.

Forming part of the leadership team will be Robbert van der Maas, President of AHG and Jerry Huang, President of AHG Greater China.

Robbert van der Maas has more than 30 years of senior management experience across Asia with international chains like Hyatt and Four Seasons. He was most recently Vice President of Hotel Operations responsible for the opening and day-to-day non-gaming operations of the MGM Macau.

Jerry Huang was most recently the President of IHG Greater China responsible for hotel operations, development and design & engineering for the group.

With more than 30 years experience in the industry, Jerry is also the Vice-chairman of the China Tourist Hotel Association, a role he has held since 2007 and a member of the China National Tourism Administration Platinum Five-Star Grading Committee. In addition, Jerry was awarded "International Hotelier of the Year 2012" by HVS Global Hospitality Service.

Artyzen's Asian DNA

Artyzen Hospitality Group sets to differ from traditional hotel companies by creating a distinctively Asian DNA, which will be an integral part of each brand experience. Each of the brands will draw its inspiration in a very contemporary way from local and regional culture including heritage, arts and crafts.

AHG will develop several in-house brands or acquire existing brands to form its brand portfolio targeting the luxury, upscale and accessible luxury segments. Each hotel will be unique and individual, and Artyzen will work closely with partners to create that unique inspiration behind the property.
