We're pleased to announce the launch of the industry section of childsafetourism website.
Whether you are a sole trader, small business or large company, there are simple steps you can take to better protect vulnerable children in tourism destinations and attract good quality customers who care about the places they visit.
The industry section provides information on simple and low-cost actions your business can implement.
Child Safe Tourism makes good business sense. Customers, investors and partners prefer responsible businesses that keep children safe from abuse.
Our research
1 showed:
- 57.1% of travellers to this region (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand or Vietnam) saw something that made them think a child was at risk of abuse.
- 84.8% of travellers wanted more information about how to protect children from exploitation.
- 94.8% said a business' policy to protect children would positively influence their purchase habits.
It's clear that travellers' experiences (including negative experiences involving perceived abuse of children) can have a significant impact on the image of tourist destinations and, by extension, tourist visitation rates. Travellers and tourists are eager to support businesses that operate under a well-developed and consistently vetted child safe policy.
