The Middle Kingdom still is a hot spot for hotel the investment market: This country does not think in small numbers when it comes to the expansion of available room capacity from Shanghai to Beijing.

With the Sheraton Macao Cotai Central, the largest hotel has recently opened its doors in China. Hotel market professionals from TOPHOTELPROJECTS currently count approximately 1,000 pipeline hotel projects in China.

All the big and prestigious hotel chains want to try their luck to have their fair share of the cake in China. But the Chinese themselves are becoming increasingly self-conscious.

A national real estate company wants to develop its own luxury hotel brand and enter the market with 20 new hotels in the forthcoming three years.

According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the leading online hotel project and hotel chain data provider, one of the largest hotels in the world will arise on the beautiful holiday destination and island Hainan in Southern China.
  • The Sanya Beautiful Crown Hotel (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 13484) counts an astonishing 6,000 rooms and is scheduled to open in March 2013.
  • The second largest hotel project in China is the Sanya Bay Red Forrest Resort and Exhibition Hotel (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 11924) with 5,600 rooms. The opening is planned for December this year. The hotel operator will be Best Western International.
These are the 10 largest hotel projects in China
