THE AMERICAS

Alexandra Walterspiel has been promoted at Sage Hospitality to Senior Vice President, heading up the Premier and Lifestyle Division. She joined Sage over two years ago as Vice President, Independent Hotels. The Lausanne-educated Walterspiel had previously been the General Manager of San Francisco's Clift and spent thirteen years with Ritz-Carlton.

Abdullah Vural has been appointed Vice President Operations, The Americas, for Ritz-Carlton and has stepped in as temporary Acting General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. He was most recently overseeing the General Manager transition at the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain from Michael McMahon to the new General Manager, Allan Federer.

Michael Rawson has returned to André Balazs Properties as General Manager of the Mercer, replacing Serena Lightner. A Cornell graduate, he was most recently the President of GFI Development Company, the owners and developers of The NoMad Hotel in New York City. He previously spent six years with Balazs as Senior Vice President, overseeing the operations of the Mercer, the Standard Hollywood, the Standard Downtown LA, the Standard Miami, the Raleigh, Sunset Beach and Chateau Marmont.

Drew Schlesinger has been named General Manager of the InterContinental Times Square, slated to open in July. He had previously served as General Manager for two IHG properties in New York City: the InterContinental Central Park South and the Crowne Plaza Manhattan. In addition, he was the former General Manager for the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and The Water Club in Atlantic City and the Mondrian Hotel Los Angeles.

Michele Grosso has been transferred by Four Seasons to the position of General Manager at the Four Seasons Punta Mita, following two years as General Manager of Four Seasons' Ritz-Carlton Chicago. At Punta Mita, he takes over from Alper Oztok who has been transferred as General Manager to the Four Seasons St. Louis.

Sal Abaunza is the new General Manager of  L'Ermitage, now part of the Viceroy Group, in Beverly Hills. Last year, he had joined the Carmel Valley Ranch as General Manager after serving six years as General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco. Abaunza had previously served as General Manager at Ventana Big Sur, the Prescott in San Francisco and the Highlands Inn in Carmel. At L'Ermitage, he succeeds Nicholas Emery.

Scott Weber has been named General Manager of the Renaissance Portsmouth Hotel & Conference Center in Virginia. He had previously served as General Manager of the Westin Westminster and the Westin Denver.

Alper Oztok will be replacing Thierry Kennel as General Manager of the Four Seasons St. Louis. He comes from the Four Seasons Punta Mita, where he has been the General Manager since September 2007. Oztok had originally joined Four Seasons in 2004 as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Philadelphia.

Russell Menkes has moved to the Drake Chicago as General Manager. For the past three years, he was serving in the same role at the Drake's nearby sister hotel, the Conrad Chicago. He had previously held the General Manager title at the Hilton Times Square and the Presidente InterContinental.

Tohnia Miller has been named Managing Director of the Orlando Hotel in Los Angeles. For the past two years, she had been at the Sé San Diego as Director of Sales and Marketing. Miller had previously overseen sales and marketing for the Pala Mesa Resort and the Lodge at Tiburon.

Ian Heffron has moved as General Manager to the Melrose Hotel in Washington, D.C. He was most recently in the same position for the Henley Park, also a Crestline property.

Tim Arnold has moved to the Hotel Zamora in Miami as General Manager. For the past three years, he had been the Hotel Director at the nearby Canyon Ranch Miami. Arnold had previously served as Vice President of Food and Beverage for HEI Hotels and Resorts and Regional Director of Operations with Levy Restaurants.

Rich Cortese has joined Aimbridge Hospitality as Senior Vice President for Resort Development for the Caribbean and Mexico, based in Puerto Rico. He had previously served as Executive Vice President of the Caribbean Property Group, and as Regional Vice President for Wyndham Resorts Caribbean.

Juan Morales has been promoted to General Manager at the Magnolia Dallas. He was most recently serving as Director of Operations for the hotel.

Dolce Hotels and Resorts has appointed Chris Dolce General Manager of the IBM Palisades Executive Conference Center in Rockland County, New York. He was previously the General Manager of the Dolce Norwalk in Connecticut.  

Rui Domingues has been appointed General Manager of the Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa, as well as the Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport. For the past three years, he had served as General Manager of the Hilton Margarita & Suites in Venezuela. Previously, he was the General Manager of the former Jalousie Hilton Resort & Spa.

Laura Castagnini has been appointed General Manager of the Doubletree Cariari by Hilton San Jose in Costa Rica. She was most recently the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Liberia Airport. She previously held the role of Director of Operations at the Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa.

Olivier Maumaire has been appointed General Manager of the Embassy Suites San Juan Hotel & Casino. He most recently served as General Manager of the Hilton Papagayo Costa Rica Resort & Spa. Maumaire is also a former Director of Operations from the Caribe Hilton.

Mike McNeill, Vice President of Operations for Dolce Hotels and Resorts North American hotels and resorts, has assumed additional responsibility as General Manager of the Dolce Norwalk Hotel in Connecticut. McNeill was promoted to his current position in May 2009 after serving the company as Regional Vice President.

Bill Gross has been promoted at the Lodge at Torrey Pines to Hotel Manager, taking over from William Friese. He joined the property as Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously served as Hotel Manager at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott.

Cynthia O'Connell has been appointed Group General Manager for Sandy Point Resorts in Belize. She had previously served as Resort Manager for the Komandoo Maldives Island Resort and Spa and General Manager at the Tuscany Resort on Turks & Caicos.

Greg Mauldin has been named General Manager of the Larkspur Hotel Mill Valley. He was most recently with Joie de Vivre Hotels, serving as General Manager at the Waterfront Hotel, the Hotel Montgomery and the Hotel Avante.

Monte Hansen has been named General Manager for the Peabody Little Rock. He was most recently the General Manager at the Greenbrier. Hansen was a former Rooms Director at the Peabody Memphis.

Anneke Scholten has returned to Aspen's Little Nell in the role of Hotel Manager, taking over from Allison Heller. Scholten originally joined the hotel in 1991 as Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently the General Manager at the Dancing Bear in Aspen.

The Magnolia Hotel in downtown Denver has named Sarah Louise Holtze Hotel Manager. She was most recently in the corporate offices of Magnolia as Director of Business Travel.

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples has promoted Darryll Adams to Hotel Manager. Adams was previously the Executive Assistant Manager Rooms Division for the Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples, overseeing operations for both the golf resort and the Ritz-Carlton, Naples. He had previously served in rooms positions for the JW Marriott Washington, the Crystal City Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner.

Great Wolf Resorts has promoted Derrek Kinzel to Regional Vice President Operations. He was most recently the General Manager of the Great Wolf Lodge Grand Mound in Washington and the Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky in Ohio.  

Laurent Boisdron has been named Director of Operations for the Sofitel Miami . He was most recently at the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach as Director of Food and Beverage.

Brian Keys has been named Director of Operations for the Hilton Orange County Costa Mesa. For the past two years, he had been the Director of Food and Beverage for the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu.

Michael Stapleton has moved to Los Angeles to join the SLS Hotel as Assistant Director of Finance. For the past two years, he had been at the Mercer in New York as Financial Controller.

Sandy Walding has been appointed Controller for the Hotel Granduca in Houston. She was most recently a Senior Corporate Accountant for Westmont Hospitality. Previously, she held the Controller title for the Hotel Icon Houston and for Sunstone Hotel Investors at the Wyndham Greenspoint in Houston.  

Kevin Blake has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Wild Dunes Resort in South Carolina, replacing Manuel Demoya who left the company. He was previously the Assistant General Manager of the Boar's Head Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Mel Van Den Bergh has joined the Loews Miami as Director of Food and Beverage. For the past year, he had been overseeing food and beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. He had previously held food and beverage management positions for the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota, the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, and the Ritz-Carlton Dearborn.

Hilton Worldwide has named Dottie Brienza Senior Vice President, Global Head of Talent Management. For the past twenty years, she had been with Johnson & Johnson, most recently as Vice President, Human Resources, Change, Communication & Education.

Bill Thomas will be the opening Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Denver. He originally joined Four Seasons in 2004 as Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole, prior to joining the opening team of the Four Seasons Westlake Village in California. He was previously in the same capacity at the Wigwam Resort in Lichtfield Park, Arizona.

The Peabody Hotel Group has promoted Gregg Herning to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently the General Manager for the Peabody Little Rock.

Benchmark Hospitality International has named John Davies to the newly created position of Vice President Marketing. He had previously served as Vice President Marketing for Noble House Hotels & Resorts and as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Tiburon Hospitality Management.  

The Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa has appointed Philip D'Amico Director of Sales and Marketing. He comes from the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority where he served as Vice President of Convention Sales for four years.

After a very brief stint as Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort in Newport Beach, Timothy Rutland has joined Viceroy as Director of Sales and Marketing for the newly rebranded L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills. Previously, he spent nineteen years with Ritz-Carlton, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. He had previously served in sales and marketing positions at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, the Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C. and the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix.

Terri Reid has been named Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at the Balboa Bay Club & Resort. She had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Island Hotel Newport Beach and the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa.

The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa has appointed Steven DeFelice Director of Sales and Marketing. He most recently worked at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk where he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for five years.  
 
The Waterford Hotel Group has named Gina Kunst Regional Director of Sales, based in the corporate offices. Her most recent role was as Director of Sales for the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwich and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Waterford.

Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas has named Andy Ortiz Regional Director of Group Sales. Ortiz is the former President of Meeting Professionals International, Mexico Chapter.

Ty Brassie has joined the Riviera Resort & Spa in Palm Springs as Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently Complex Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood's Westin Beach Resort Fort Lauderdale and Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel.

William Parris has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for Cassa Hotel & Residences in New York City. He had previously overseen sales and marketing for the Milford Plaza and the Avalon.

Gail Gerber has been promoted to Area Director of Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental San Francisco Hotels. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental San Francisco.

Charles Bello has been appointed Director of Sales for both the InterContinental San Francisco and the InterContinental Mark Hopkins. He was most recently the Director of Group Sales for the InterContinental San Francisco.

Jeff Holland has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at CordeValle, a Rosewood Resort. He was most recently the Director of Group Sales at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation. He had previously held senior sales positions at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa, Pinehurst Resort, and the Club at Seabrook Island.

Sea Island has named Carla Spears its Northeast Regional Sales Manager. She had been a Regional Sales Manager at Amelia Island Plantation for the past fourteen years.   

Carey Rushatz has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Mela in New York City. She was most recently the Director of Business Travel Sales for Highgate Hotels, also in New York. 

Willie Chin has returned as Director of Sales and Marketing to the InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino. He had previously been in the same position from 2002-2007, before moving to his most recent position as Director of Sales and Marketing for the newly opened Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel & Casino

Christopher Hamaway has joined the Montage Deer Valley Resort as Director of Sales and Marketing. For the past ten years, he had been with Ritz-Carlton, overseeing sales and marketing in the New York Sales Office, the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage and the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne.

Kari Obernesser has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for the Loews Denver Hotel. She was most recently serving as Director of Sales.

Ryan King has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. He was most recently a Senior Sales Manager for the Dupont Hotel and the Normandy Hotel, both in DC.

The Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has appointed Robert Nee Director of Marketing. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles. Previously, he served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center and as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Marriott Hotels' Chicago Southwest region. Don Foreman will continue to assume sales responsibilities.

Mark Lindsey has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Loews Ventana Canyon. He had previously overseen sales and marketing at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson and for Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Scottsdale.

Nicole La Valette has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park. For the past seven years, she had been in the Cayman Islands in various sales roles at the Wyndham Grand Cayman Resort, the Cayman Islands Tourism Association and, most recently, the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman as Director of Sales.

The Joule in Dallas has appointed Matthew Vesely Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Resort at Singer Island.

Linda Hodgson has moved as Director of Sales and Marketing to the InterContinental New York Times Square. She was most recently in the same position at the InterContinental New York Barclay

The Andaz West Hollywood has named Melvin Guerrieri Director of Sales and Marketing. Most recently, he was an Associate Director of Sales for the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego.

The Sè San Diego Hotel has named Joe Velasquez Director of Sales and Marketing. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Previously, he was the Director of Sales at the Phoenician Resort, and Director of Sales and Marketing at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort.

CordeValle, a Rosewood Resort, has promoted Ashley French to Director of Group Sales. She has been with the sales team since 2007 and had previously held sales and marketing posts at the Quail Lodge and Bernardus Lodge, both in Carmel.

Carly Williams has been named Senior Sales Manager – Business Travel and Leisure, at the Ritz-Carlton Westchester. She was most recently a Business and Leisure Travel Sales Manager at the Liberty Hotel in Boston.

Karen Lubrano-Ivie has joined the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center in Texas as Sales Manager. She had previously been in a similar role for the past thirteen years for the Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa.  

The Portofino Resort & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach has named Rosanna Harrison Director of Catering. She was most recently the Director of Catering for San Diego-based Evans Hotels, overseeing events and catering for the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa. She had previously served as Director of Catering and Convention Services for the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, as well as Senior Event Manager for the JW Marriott Resort & Spa Palm Desert.

The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort has promoted Ed DiAntonio to Director of Catering and Convention Services. He has been with the resort for the past seven years, most recently as Director of Catering. Vanessa Kells takes over for DiAntonio as Director of Catering at the resort.

After a year at Church & State in downtown Los Angeles, Walter Manzke is leaving to pursue his dreams of opening his own place. Joshua Smith steps in to take over for Manzke. In the past Smith had mostly worked in Vegas at Osteria del Circo, with Michael Mina at his Seablue restaurant at the MGM Grand, and, most recently, with Alain Giraud at Anisette in Santa Monica.

Timothy Au will be overseeing the Google corporate kitchen in Irvine as Executive Chef. For the past year, he had been the Chef de Cuisine at Molly's in the Marriott Hotel & Marina in San Diego. He had previously served in various culinary positions for the Mayflower Inn & Spa and the Lodge at Torrey Pines.

At the Four Seasons Mexico City, Edgar Kano becomes the Executive Chef and steps into the position left vacant when Régis Lacombe left last year. A CIA graduate, Kano joins from the Four Seasons Dallas, where he has been the Club's Executive Sous Chef.

Chef Jeremy Fox has departed Ubuntu in Napa. Former Executive Sous Chef Aaron London steps in for Fox as Chef de Cuisine.

Pierre Schutz has moved as Executive Chef to the just-opened Jean-George at the Mark. He was most recently at Vong which closed in November. Prior to that, he was the Chef de Cuisine at the defunct Lutèce.

The Hilton New York has appointed Richard Brown Director of Culinary. Brown was the Executive Chef at the St. Regis New York since November 2001.

The Willard InterContinental has named Luc Dendievel Executive Chef. This is a return to the nation's capital where he used to be a Sous Chef at Michel Richard's Citronelle in the nineties. He recently spent five years in Sacramento, serving as Chef for the Baccara Group, opening two restaurants, Baccara's and 55 Degrees.

Jean-Claude Plihon is the new Executive Chef for the Grand Hyatt Dallas/Fort Worth. He had spent the last twelve years with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Executive Chef at the Fairmont Heliopolis and Fairmont Towers Hotels in Cairo.

Executive Chef Paul Arenstam has left San Francisco's Hotel Vitale and the Americano Restaurant. He is planning to concentrate full time on his Summer Kitchen Bake Shop in Berkeley. Executive Sous Chef Kori Stewart takes over for Arenstam as Executive Chef.

Olivier Gaupin has joined the soon-to-open Loews Atlanta as Executive Chef. He was most recently the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage for the Alys Beach Resort. This is a return to Atlanta for Gaupin who previously served as Chef de Cuisine for the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta before taking on the same position for the Ritz-Carlton St. Louis.

Las Ventanas al Paraíso has promoted Victor Palma Guadarrama to Executive Sous Chef. He joined the resort in 2006 and was most recently overseeing The Restaurant as Sous Chef.

Philippe Tosques will be leaving Las Vegas to take over as General Manager for Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Resort in Anaheim. For the past six years, he had been with MGM Mirage, serving as General Manager for Prime Steakhouse in the Bellagio Resort and for Fleur de Lys in the Mandalay Bay Resort.

Stéphane Lacroix is moving to New York City to take over as General Manager of Gilt at the New York Palace. He spent the past eleven years at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco as Sommelier and Wine Director. He will be rejoining Ed Mady, the former General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, now the Managing Director of the New York Palace.

The Stratosphere Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has named Joseph Thompson General Manager of the Top of the World Restaurant. He had previously served as General Manager of Alan Albert's Vintage Steakhouse and the Rosewood Grille, both in Las Vegas.

New York's Michelin-starred Rouge Tomate has named Peter Esmond Director of Operations, taking over from Erin Bellard. Esmond was the former General Manager at Per Se.  

Nicola Gabriele has joined the Sè San Diego as General Manager for their restaurant, Suite and Tender. She had previously overseen Donovan's Steak & Chop House and the Palm Restaurant, both in San Diego.

EUROPE

Gérard Sintès has been appointed General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, taking over from Luis Marco who is retiring after a 45-year career in the hospitality industry. Sintès was most recently at the One&Only Cape Town as General Manager. In addition, he had previously served as General Manager at the One&Only Le Saint Géran Hotel, Spa & Golf Club in Mauritius and at the Shangri-La Bangkok.

Philippe Leboeuf has returned to Paris as pre-opening General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Paris. He had previously overseen the Hôtel de Crillon for six years. He was most recently at Claridge's in London as General Manager.

The Finca Cortesin Hotel, Golf, and Spa has named Rene Zimmer General Manager. He had previously served as Executive Assistant Manager at the Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg. Prior to that, he was the Director of Food and Beverage at the Hotel La Residencia in Mallorca, Spain.

Andrew Mackay joins the Samling Hotel in Cumbria as General Manager. He was previously the General Manager at Linthwaite House in Cumbria and the Greenway in Cheltenham.

The Kings Hotel in Christchurch has named Claire Stepney General Manager. Her past experience includes positions at Chewton Glen in Hampshire, Combe House in Devon and the Summer Lodge in Dorset.

Christian Baumgarten is the new General Manager at Le Mas de Pierre in Saint-Paul de Vence, succeeding Gilles Fouilleroux. He had been the property's Assistant General Manager for the past two years, following stints as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Martinez, and Food and Beverage Director at the Croisette Beach.

At the Hotel du Castellet on the French Riviera, Alexandra Perbet is the new Director of Operations, taking over from Arnaud Potvin, who has left the company.

At Paris' Park Hyatt Vendôme, Jean-Yong Pittion replaces Arnaud Duhem as Director of Food and Beverage. He comes from the Plaza-Athénée where he held the position of Food and Beverage Manager since 2007. He also served as Assistant Food and Beverage Director at the Conrad London. As for Duhem, he is now the Director of Food and Beverage at the soon-to-open Shangri-La Palais d'Iéna.

The Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill has appointed Conor O'Leary Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently at the Andaz London Liverpool Street as Director of Food and Beverage and previously served as Food and Beverage Manager at the Ritz London.

The Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh has named Tamara Kobiolke Director of Sales and Marketing. She was most recently the Director of Sales at Cameron House.

Langham Hotels International has appointed Nadine Schaperdot Director of Sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She was most recently managing the Group and Incentive markets for One&Only Resorts and the Atlantis brand.

Aurelio in Lech, Austria, has appointed Christian Rescher Chef de Cuisine. He had previously served as Chef de Partie at Schlosswirt zu Anif and Pastry Chef at Restaurant Riedenburg in Salzburg.

Max Wilson has been promoted to Head Chef for Seaham Hall in County Durham. He moves up from his current position as Sous Chef, taking over from Kenny Atkinson who is now at Rockliffe Hall.

Lars Windfuhr has joined the Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill as Executive Chef. He was most recently at the Grand Hyatt Cairo.

Marco Pierre White has appointed Chris Brown Head Chef for his Steakhouse Bar and Grill in the Doubletree by Hilton Chester. Brown was most recently at White's Marco at Chelsea and Wheelers of St. James restaurants.

Brenden Moradi has joined Marco Pierre White as Restaurant Manager for his Steakhouse Bar and Grill in the Doubletree by Hilton Chester. Moradi's Chester experience includes positions at Bar Lounge, Upstairs at The Grill and the Cock O' Barton.

ASIA AND THE PACIFIC

Rainy Chan has been promoted to Area Vice President for Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels while retaining her role as General Manager for the Peninsula Hong Kong. Chan has been with the company since 1994 and was appointed General Manager of the Hong Kong property in 2007.

Nicolas Béliard has been promoted to General Manager of the Peninsula Bangkok replacing Charles Morris. Béliard was most recently the Resident Manager of the Peninsula Hong Kong. He is also a former Director of Rooms at the Mandarin Oriental Miami and the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva.

Barun Jolly has been named General Manager for the Crowne Plaza Today New Delhi Okhla, scheduled to open this month. He was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon.

Cornell man T.W. Hughes has returned to Thailand to take over as General Manager for Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels of their Thai Country Club. For the past two years, he had been in Vietnam with Indochina Hotels & Resorts as Vice President of Asset Management and Development. He had previously served as Chief Operations Officer at the Pine Valley Golf Resort & Country Club in Beijing.

David Martens has been appointed Complex General Manager for the W Retreat & Spa Maldives and the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. He was most recently the General Manager for the past three years at Le Méridien Dahab Resort in Egypt.

William Tang has been appointed General Manager of the Kande International Hotel Huizhou. He was most recently the Vice General Manager of the Kande International Hotel Huizhou.

Klaus Rauter has been named General Manager of both Andara Villa Management and the Andara Residences in Phuket. He had previously served in various management roles for the Banyan Tree Phuket, Six Senses and Astudo Hotels & Resorts.

Hon Ming Ip has been appointed General Manager at the Crowne Plaza Huizhou, scheduled to open in August. He was most recently the General Manager of the Grand Castle Hotel Xian.

Ivy Yu is the new General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Zhongshan Xiaolan. She was most recently the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Luohu Shenzhen.

James Wu has been appointed General Manager of the Modena Heping Tianjin. He was most recently the Acting General Manager of the Fraser Residence CBD East Beijing.

Darren Shaw has been appointed General Manager of the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas. Shaw was previously the General Manager of the Outrigger on the Lagoon Fiji.

Alexander Parry has joined the Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square as Hotel Manager. Parry was previously the General Manager of Le Fenix Sukhumvit Hotel by Accor, also in Bangkok.

Lawrence Perera has been appointed Hotel Manager of the Bayview Hotel Georgetown in Penang. Perera joins from the Bayview Beach Resort and the Bayview Boulevard Sydney.

Peerawut Kunchorn has been named Hotel Manager of the Vijitt Resort in Phuket. He was previously at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club Resort, where he served as Director of Rooms and Executive Assistant Manager.

Jeff Ross has been named Director of Operations at the Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore. He was most recently at the St. Regis Bali, where he was the Hotel Manager.

Markus Krebs has left what is now the former Raffles L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills (now a Viceroy) where he was serving as Director of Food and Beverage. He is now in the same position at the Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii. He had previously overseen food and beverage for Shutters on the Beach, and the InterContinental Los Angeles.

The Regent Singapore has named Anshul Kaul Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently at the Four Seasons Aviara as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the past two years. 

Maurice Constantin has moved to Hawaii to join the Hilton Hawaian Village as Director of Food and Beverage. For the past four years, he had been at the JW Marriott Desert Springs as Director of Food and Beverage. He had previously overseen food and beverage for the Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the former Westin Century Plaza and the Omni Los Angeles Hotel California Plaza.

Dieter Greigeritsch has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the JW Marriott Bangkok. Greigeritsch was most recently Director of Food and Beverage at the JW Marriott Jakarta.

Michael Blaksteen has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage for the Makena Beach & Golf Resort on Maui. He was most recently the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.

The Oberoi Group has appointed Neelima Chopra Executive Vice President - Sales and Marketing, based in New Delhi. She was most recently Vice President Sales for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Europe.

Alan Tan Dong Fang has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Capital Hotel Beijing. He was most recently the Director of Business Development for the Traders Upper East Hotel in Beijing.

The Shangri-La Dalian has appointed Danny Toh Director of Sales and Marketing. He had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, and Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort in Kota Kinabalu.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has promoted Denny Ma to Director, Global Accounts, based in the Hong Kong regional sales office. He has been in this office since 2007, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Nick Berry has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing in the Sydney regional sales office of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He was most recently serving as Director of Sales in the regional office and was previously the Director of Business Development at the Shangri-La Sydney.

Beverley Parker has been promoted to Director of Marketing with the Four Seasons Sydney, taking over for Jeff Crowe. She joined the property early last year as Director of Sales. Parker had previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Robert Miletic has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental Sydney. Miletic was previously on the pre-opening team for the InterContinental Melbourne, The Rialto.

Matthew Jung has been appointed Marketing Director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts' W brand in Asia Pacific. He spent the past two years heading up brand building, marketing and public relations for the W Hong Kong.

Roy Butteling has been promoted to Director of Group Sales for the Fairmont Orchid on Hawaii's Big Island. He was most recently a Sales Manager at the resort. Previously, he spent six years as Director of Accounts for the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua.

Peter Fritz has been appointed Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Maldives at Kuda Huraa. His career saw him hold Executive Chef positions with Hyatt, Shangri-La and Hilton, as well as Baros Resorts in the Maldives.

Michael Hogan has been appointed Executive Chef of the new Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel. He was most recently working at the Singapore Marriott as Executive Sous Chef.

The Laguna, Nusa Dua, Bali has appointed I Wayan Subrata as Executive Sous Chef. He was most recently at the Four Seasons Landa Gira Avaru Maldives as Sous Chef.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

Patrick-Denis Finet has transferred as General Manager to the Mandarin Oriental Jnan Rahma, Marrakech scheduled to open later this year. He has been with the company since 2004, serving as General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Chiang Mai and of the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya. In Marrakech, he takes over from Franck Sibille.

David Sosner has joined the Ritz-Carlton Cairo Palm Hills Golf Resort as General Manager. He had previously served as Director of Residences for the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa and as General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Country Club Seoul.

Puneet Singh has been appointed General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel The Dome, Belek, in Turkey. Singh was most recently the General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Sanya.

Janet Fitzner has been named General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek. She was most recently the General Manager at the Radisson Blu Centrum Hotel, Warsaw.

Hany Khorshid has been named General Manager of the Al Marwa Rayhaan by Rotana - Makkah. For the past three years, he had served as General Manager for the Coral Beach Rotana Resort Montazah in Sharm El Sheikh.

Reed Kandalaft has been named Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Damascus. He moves up from the position of Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Hualalai.

Pascal Carrion has joined IHG as Project Manager in charge of the InterContinental Phoenician Beirut . He had previously served as Facilities Manager for Emirates Hotels & Resorts.

John Griffin joins Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts as Senior Vice President Brand and Marketing, succeeding Steven Nikolov who has left the company. Griffin was most recently in Bangkok as Vice President Marketing for Minor International. He had previously served as Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Director of Loyalty Programs, for Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts.

The Jumeirah Group has appointed Piers Schreiber to the new position of Vice-President of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. He most recently co-founded the Communication Matrix and previously headed corporate communications for KPNQwest, Ogilvy Public Relations, and the Rowland Company (Saatchi & Saatchi).

Vladimir Dabbah has been appointed Vice President of Global Sales for the Middle East & Africa, based in Dubai, for Marriott. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Renaissance Dubai.

Waike Papke has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Park Hyatt Dubai. She was most recently at the Banyan Tree Al Areen in Bahrain as Director of Sales and Marketing.

The Westin Dubai and Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina have appointed Lama Semaan Director of Catering and Sales Events. She was most recently the Director of Conventions at the W Hotel, Qatar. She had previously served as Assistant Director of Conference and Events at Al Murooj Rotana, Dubai.

Claudio Rossi has been named Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Damascus. Since October 2008, he had been the Executive Chef of the Four Seasons Toronto. Prior to that, he held the same position for the Regent Singapore and the Four Seasons Chiang Mai.

Sumanth Das has moved to the Four Seasons Seychelles as Executive Chef. He had previously served as Executive Chef at the Four Seasons Maldives at Kuda Huraa and as Executive Sous Chef at the Four Seasons Punta Mita.

The Al Ain Rotana has appointed Guido Thomeczeck Executive Chef. He was most recently with the Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers as Specialty Outlet Chef.

Ali Al Haj Hasan has been named Chef de Cuisine at the Café Arabesque in the Park Hyatt Dubai. He joined Hyatt last year as Sous Chef on the pre-opening team for Park Hyatt Jeddah.

The Grand Hyatt Amman has named Ivan Chieregatti Executive Sous Chef. He had previously served in various culinary positions with Hilton, Kempinski, the Jumeirah Group and, most recently the Hyatt Regency Dubai.

Girish Bhagat is the new Director of Rooms at the Grand Hyatt Muscat. He was most recently the Front Office Manager at the Grand Hyatt Dubai.
