Frasers Hospitality will be introducing its serviced residence brand Modena by Fraser to Thailand with the opening of Modena by Fraser Bangkok in 2016.

The 239-unit Modena by Fraser Bangkok adds to Frasers Hospitality’s portfolio in Thailand where it currently operates the 163-unit Gold-Standard Fraser Suites Sukhumvit serviced residence in central Bangkok.

Modena by Fraser’s modern, stylish and eco-friendly approach to serviced residence living is designed for “road warrior” business travellers seeking affordable home comforts, with the added attraction of a localised residential experience. Featuring soft furnishings and amenities that are provincially sourced, it appeals to socially conscious travellers by offering the best of its locale including prominent displays of local artwork, fresh local produce at its all-day-dining restaurants, and arranged visits to local attractions.

The Modena by Fraser brand first made its debut in China in 2010 with the opening of Modena by Fraser Heping Tianjin. The years that followed saw the launch of four more Modena by Fraser properties " Modena by Fraser Putuo Shanghai, Modena by Fraser Jinjhu Suzhou, Modena by Fraser Wuxi and Modena by Fraser Zhuankou Wuhan " which reflect the positive reception of Modena by Fraser’s fresh approach to modern serviced residence living in each market.

Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality, said: “Thailand is an ideal market for the introduction of our Modena by Fraser brand, which has been refreshed to appeal to socially conscious Millennials who seek form and function. Modena by Fraser has previously proven to be successful as an affordable, stylish and aspirational serviced residence offering in China and as we develop this brand further with an emphasis on eco-friendliness and sustainability, travellers to Bangkok will benefit from the rejuvenation of this brand, which advocates a green approach to modern serviced residence living.”

One of the projected top five recipients of rising foreign direct investment in Southeast Asia , Thailand recorded FDI inflows of US$13 billion in 2014 and with its integration in the Asian Economic Community (AEC) is expected to attract increased FDI inflows. As at YTD May 2015, Thailand showed a 25% growth in arrivals over the same period in the previous year, signaling a continued recovery in 2015 .

He added, “The growth of Modena by Fraser is in line with our overall strategy to achieve 30,000 residence units over the next four years and together with our other brand offerings " Frasers serviced residences, Capri by Fraser hotel residences and Malmaison and Hotel du Vin lifestyle boutique hotels " it allows us to cater to a wider spectrum of travellers in each market.”

Frasers Hospitality Launches Second Tianjin Property

Frasers Hospitality, a member of Frasers Centrepoint Limited, bolsters its presence in China with the opening of its second serviced residence in the burgeoning city of Tianjin. Located close to the historic Nankai district, the 192-unit Fraser Place Tianjin complements the 104-unit Modena by Fraser Heping Tianjin, which was launched in 2010. This will be Frasers Hospitality’s 15th property in China, where its footprint is expected to double to 30 properties  with over 7,000 serviced apartment units by 2019.

One of China’s fastest growing metropolis and the gateway city to Northern China, Tianjin is an important industrial centre in China, which has attracted high levels of FDI amounting to 11.7 billion yuan with the newly established Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone. The integrated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei has also contributed to the number of in-bound tourists, which grew by 11.76 percent in the last year, which is reflected in the increase in Tianjin’s tourism income by 18.32 percent.

Mr Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Hospitality said: “China is one of our fastest-growing markets and the opening of our 15th property in China is a clear reflection of the confidence that we have in its continued growth. Despite a slowdown in economic growth, there is no denying that China will continue to remain the Asian economic powerhouse, which is expected to double in size by 2020 based on 2010 levels. We plan to continue strengthening our presence in China with our range of serviced residence offerings that cater to the different segments of the business and leisure travel market."

Located in the city’s prime entertainment district, adjacent to the Olympic Stadium Centre, Fraser Place Tianjin is also close to the XiQing Economic Development district, the International School of Tianjin and is surrounded by leisure options including the Sen’Ao Golf Club and the NewClubLife Wellness and Lifestyle Centre. Travellers will enjoy easy access to key tourist landmarks and the city’s shopping, entertainment and dining options such as Tianjin Water Park, Zoo, Ancient Culture Street, Ao Cheng shopping mall, Galaxy International shopping mall, IMAX theatre, Jin Yi International Cinema, Binjang Road, Heping Walking Street Shopping Area, popular cafés and restaurants, which are all within 15-20 minutes distance away.
