Tourism in the Big Apple is booming: New York City recently counts on 53 million visitors in a year and more and more tourism are visiting the city that never sleeps;
For comparison: just 35 million visitors were counted in 2002. The increasing number of guests is a reason for the strongly growing hotel market. In the past seven years 74 new hotels with about 13,500 rooms opened, thereof the famous Mandarin Oriental with a panoramic view at Central Park as well as the exquisite boutique hotel Trump Soho.
According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of global b2b hotel data, currently 48 new large hotels are in the pipeline in New York City.
A highlight will be the new Park Hyatt One57, which will open its doors in September. The new building with 25 floors is counting on 210 rooms with a size between 44 to 208 (suites) square meters. The pool has underwater speakers which will broadcast the Carnegie Hall. An overnight stay will cost around 795 US-Dollar (580 Euro).
Manhattan hotel market registered more than 350 existing hotels with 82,000 rooms. The average occupancy rate was recently at 87 percent with an average overnight stay rate of 280 US-Dollar.
Hospitality chains invest in new hotel brands in New York: 2015 InterContinental Hotels opened two Event boutique hotels with 380 rooms. Starwood Hotels planned the inauguration of two Aloft hotels with 345 rooms in total; one of these hotels will open in autumn. Marriott International is planning an Edition Hotes (452 rooms) for 2017 and is preparing the start of an AC Hotel by Marriott (126 rooms) for this year's autumn.
In autumn 2015 another top hotel will open its doors: the Rui Plaa with 600 rooms at the Times Square. For the Spanish operating family a dream comes true.

In November the Starwood Capital Group tries a brand debut with Baccarat Hotel: the first top hotel by the French luxury brand will feature 114 rooms. The Residence Hotel in New York City will be housed in a 50 floor high glass tower.
Among others 26 suites and 61 residences with up to four bed rooms as well as a penthouse with five rooms and a roof deck are planned. Also a crystal bar, a French Tuileries reminding roof garden, a spa with an indoor pool and fitness rooms will be featured.
A flagship store by Baccarat was opened last year at the Madison Avenue at the Big Apple. The new hotel brand Baccarat is based on the French design brand, which was founded in 1764 by a decree of King Louis XV. The same named company – which belongs mostly to the Starwood Capital Group – is based in Alsace and it is famous for its crystal compositions.
