The Corfu property will open this summer under Affiliated by Meliá before undergoing a full renovation and rebranding as The Meliá Collection in 2027.

Meliá Hotels International continues to weave its presence across the world's most coveted leisure destinations with the signing of a new hotel in Corfu, the Greek island where history, Venetian architecture and the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean converge in a setting of timeless beauty.

This new project reflects the company's ambition to further expand within the premium and luxury segment, connecting travellers with iconic destinations that blend authenticity, culture and a refined lifestyle, in line with Corfu's growing appeal as one of the Mediterranean's most sought-after escapes.

With this addition, Meliá reaches seven hotels in Greece and marks its debut in Corfu, reinforcing its footprint in one of Southern Europe's most dynamic tourism markets. Renowned for its UNESCO-listed Old Town, Venetian-inspired architecture and emblematic beaches such as Paleokastritsa and Glyfada, the island is currently undergoing a repositioning towards higher-value travel segments.

The property, currently known as St Georges Bay Country Club & Spa, is located on the island's northern coast, an area highly regarded for its blend of coastal enclaves, scenic landscapes and excellent accessibility. The northeast coastline is home to some of Corfu's most exclusive beaches and coves, including Barbati, Nissaki, Kaminaki, Krouzeri and Agni, celebrated for their crystal-clear waters, nautical experiences and vibrant culinary scene that showcases local flavours in unique seaside settings.

The hotel will join Meliá's portfolio this summer under the Affiliated by Meliá umbrella, featuring 86 rooms and a comprehensive range of facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby bar, beach club, wellness areas with spa and gym, as well as dedicated MICE spaces. The property will subsequently undergo an extensive renovation to be upgraded to a five-star category and rebranded as The Meliá Collection Corfu in 2027. Following its repositioning, the hotel will expand its capacity to reach 140 rooms by 2028.

The Meliá Collection is a curated portfolio of singular hotels with a distinct identity, located in iconic destinations and designed to deliver authentic, personalised experiences deeply connected to their surroundings.

“This agreement in Corfu reflects our firm commitment to continued growth in the Mediterranean within the premium and luxury segment, incorporating assets with strong experiential value in unique locations," said Gabriel Escarrer, Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International. “The addition of this hotel and its future transformation into The Meliá Collection will allow us to deliver a truly differentiated proposition in one of Europe's most inspiring destinations, while supporting the island's evolution towards a more exclusive positioning."

The hotel is owned by Concord Group, further consolidating the strategic alliance with Meliá Hotels International following the collaboration on the Meliá Durrës in Albania, and reinforcing both partners' shared vision for growth in key Mediterranean destinations.
