Luxury hospitality is moving into all-inclusive

Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, JW Marriott, and Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts are all entering the space in different ways.

Hyatt plans to open the first Park Hyatt all-inclusive in Riviera Maya later this year, Marriott Hotels will debut the JW Marriott All-Inclusive Resort Costa Rica this fall, and the Ritz-Carlton All-Inclusive Yanuna is scheduled for Punta Cana in 2028. Hilton has also introduced an all-inclusive package at Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya.

This reflects a shift in what affluent travelers want. Guests are still looking for exceptional service, elevated dining, privacy, and personalization, but they also want pricing and planning to feel easier.

The Park Hyatt Riviera Maya offers a good example of how these companies are trying to protect their brand identities as they enter the category.

Guests will receive a dedicated resort ambassador before arrival, restaurants will offer à la carte service rather than buffets, and the experience will be tailored to individualized dining, wellness, and travel preferences.

The challenge will be maintaining simplicity without making the experience feel standardized.

Traditional all-inclusives are built around convenience and scale, while legacy luxury brands are built around exclusivity and customization.

Bringing those expectations together will require more than adding premium rooms and restaurants. The opportunity, however, is significant. Luxury travelers may be willing to pay considerably more for an all-inclusive experience that removes logistical friction without sacrificing quality.

All-inclusive is no longer limited to value-focused vacations. It's becoming a serious luxury category.
