Oil prices start to drop across the region, with Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines all lowering their prices.

Malaysia introduces subsidised diesel from 1 Jul for private diesel vehicle owners, Laos reinstates previous higher excise tax rates on diesel and gasoline.

The Philippines goes hard with a new domestic tourism campaign that tweaks "Love Philippines" to "Discover More to Love", with a new website and travel offers from the private sector.

Meanwhile, Cambodia's domestic tourism expands 54% YoY from Jan-May 2026, Malaysian domestic tourism was up 7% YoY in Q1, and in Phangnga domestic tourists were 2X YoY from Jan-Apr 2026.

Wellness tourism continues to shape tourism plays.

In Singapore, one of the oldest travel agents launches wellness tours they claim are "Singapore’s first science-led, outcome-measured inspirational travel series".

In Indonesia, the idea of tourism villages being centres of traditional herbal products is floated by the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency.
