GBTA announces new advisory board appointments for Asia.

Having recently established its base in Asia with offices in Bangkok and Hong Kong, the new Advisory board will provide strategic direction for GBTA Asia as well as representation for the newly formed member network.
 
The four appointments include two buyer members and two suppliers. Jenny Ng, Corporate Business Travel Manager, Procurement Asia Pacific for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and Debbie Winston, Regional Head of Travel APAC for UBS AG Hong Kong will serve as buyer members. The two advisors from the supplier community are Roger Pfund, General Manager, Corporate Sales and Client Services, Asia Pacific for RADIUS and Paul Boyle, Global Business Travel Consultant for Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
 
“Having these experienced travel professionals guiding our efforts in Asia is a big step forward in fulfilling our ambitious education and events program in Asia,” said Welf Ebeling, Regional Director – Asia. “Our first tasks as a group will be to establish the roadmap for education in the region and to identify a chairman to head up the new GBTA Asia advisory board in the long term.” Mr Ebeling continued, “The network will be looking for further board members in the following months to be fairly represented in this ethnically and politically diverse region.”
 
Jenny Ng, Corporate Business Travel Manager, Procurement Asia Pacific for the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited has been working for HSBC as Corporate Travel Manger for more than 10 years. She manages the Corporate Travel Program for 18 Asia Pacific countries. 
 
Debbie Winston, Regional Head of Travel APAC for UBS AG Hong Kong has worked in the business travel industry for 30 years and has held various management and leadership roles within multinational companies in EMEA, US and Asia Pacific. Her experience includes ten years at Cisco Systems where she won a Business Travel Manager of the Year Award and then as Global Head of Travel Operations she helped launch a ‘follow the sun’ global travel service platform. Now as Regional Head of Travel for UBS she is leading a team which is successfully implementing online booking across the APAC region.
 
Roger Pfund, General Manager, Asia Pacific for RADIUS, is a 20 year travel industry veteran with over 15 years experience leading corporate client sales, program management and operational teams in the APAC region.   His experience includes positions at Lufthansa, American Express, BCD Travel and most recently, CEO and President of Fursan Travel, a leading Middle East travel company and RADIUS member agency headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
 
Paul Boyle, Global Business Travel Consultant has 27 years of experience in the travel industry, of which, the last 18 years have been working for Carlson Wagonlit Travel. He has held many senior positions in Europe for CWT in both Operations and Account Management, before becoming the CWT General Manager for Hong Kong in February 2009. During his appointment, Mr Boyle received the prestigious Carlson Companies Fellowship Award in April 2011. Since leaving CWT at the end of 2011, he has been engaged by the company as an external consultant to review operating structures and customer service strategies for both CWT India and Singapore.
