Starwood is slated to open a new Westin Hotel in Singapore in 2013; the Westin Singapore Marina Bay, occupying the 32nd to 46th floor of Asia Square Tower 2, will feature the highest hotel lobby in the country.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Regional Vice President for Southeast Asia, Chuck Abbott, was quoted in AsiaTravelTips.com as having said that the opening of The Westin Singapore Marina Bay underscores the importance of Singapore to the Westin brand and builds on their strong history in both urban and resort locations throughout Asia.

The Westin Singapore Marina Bay features 305 nature-inspired rooms as well as a 480 square-metre banquet hall, and The Heavenly Spa by Westin, all inspired by nature design aesthetic.

The hotel’s room will use motion sensors to detect movements in the room before switching to energy-saving mode, and use water0saving low-flow faucets and showerheads.

Furniture in the rooms are also ‘green label’ products.
