Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality has assumed management of newly named Chancery Court Hotel, London, formerly Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel.

The award-winning hotel and heritage property will be operated as an independent luxury hotel in the group's portfolio.

Opened in 1914 and constructed in Edwardian Belle Epoque design, today the luxury hotel has 356 guestrooms and is home to The Spa at Chancery Court and a range of restaurants and lounges including Pearl Restaurant & Bar.

With its distinctive architectural elements and 1,065 square metres of meeting space, the hotel is a popular venue for conferences, special events and weddings.  Located in Holborn, Chancery Court Hotel is near the city's major business centres and tourist attractions such as Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House, West End theatres, museums, galleries and shopping districts.

The hotel was awarded Visit London's Outstanding Customer Service Award in 2010 and is a member of the exclusive Preferred Hotels and Resorts group.

"Chancery Court Hotel, London is our first in Europe and an exquisite addition to our spectrum of hotels," said Sonia Cheng, chairman of New World Hospitality.  "We will manage it as an independent luxury property, keeping its distinctive charm and high service standards, while supporting greater exposure of the hotel to international clientele."

Hotel General Manager Matthias Roeke has more than 20 years hotel management experience.  Most recently, Roeke spent seven years with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, including opening the acclaimed China World Summit Wing Beijing as general manager.  His career has encompassed management positions at luxury hotels in Germany, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, South Africa and Thailand.  Roeke launched his career in Berlin following hotel and restaurant training in his native Germany.
