Four Seasons Boston installs ORCA Green Machine, Totally Green enters US market.
Saturday, 4th June 2011
Source : Totally Green, Inc.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts implemented the ORCA Green Machine to establish on-site composting of organic food waste generated by its restaurant and cuisine services.

The organic composter saves the hotel tipping or disposal costs. The organic refuse produced by the hotel no longer needs to be hauled away. The ORCA Green Machine composts up to 2,400 pounds of organic refuse per day into harmless, nutrient rich grey-water that can be safely put into the sanitary sewer system.

The Four Season's staff deposits any organic food waste generated throughout the hotel's guest rooms and restaurant into the composting machine. This aerobic compost process complements Four Season's environmental mission to support sustainability by reducing the amount of methane-producing organic material sent to landfills.

"This installation demonstrates another market where the ORCA Green Machine can provide tremendous cost savings and environmental benefits to a large organization, like Four Seasons," said Rob Phillips, president of Totally Green. "We continue to drive sales with large organizations that are embracing the sustainability mandates necessary for the future of a green planet."

Four Seasons over the last couple of years has established a leadership position in terms of sustainability initiatives as a major hotel chain throughout the United States. The "Four Seasons of Preservation" campaign has created a domino effect with other Four Seasons' properties implementing sustainability practices. Four Seasons involves more than 35,000 employees managing 84 hotels across 34 countries that can make an impact on preserving and protecting the planet for generations to come.
