The Middle East hospitality market is still booming.

Studies have reported that the GCC is to invest US $140 billion in the hotel industry over the next six years and $290 million in technology spending across new hotels by 2010.

Further to the amount of project investment, there is the growing need for hotels in the region to comply with green initiatives and sustainability requirements. With the rapid influx of innovative solutions being introduced on an almost daily basis, it is very difficult to identify the right technologies to support the strategic vision of a hotel.

In this current market a ‘more for less approach’ is top of everyone’s agenda and competition to achieve optimum guest satisfaction and customer experience has never been greater.

Despite these encouraging statistics, the global crisis has had an impact on hotels’ IT budgets.

The biggest challenge that hotel operators face is trying to convince owners to invest in technology in the current market.  Especially given that most existing technologies having cost a lot of money are not being fully utilized. Therefore experts need to understand global best practice and how IT can achieve its full potential.

Global experts will gather in Dubai on the 16-17 November 2009 to discuss future strategies and how the industry is responding to the crisis.  Hotel Technology Middle East, the premier hotel technology summit, will take place at the Atlantis Hotel, Palm Jumeirah.

“Hotel Technology Middle East will provide a critical insight into the future of hotel IT strategies across the Middle East.”

Joe Tesfai, Senior Vice President Information Technology at the Atlantis Hotel, Palm Jumeirah.
