ONYX Hospitality Opens the Amari Galle in Sri Lanka

ONYX Hospitality Group has launched an Amari property in Sri Lanka’s historic southwest coastal city of Galle. Located along the Colombo-Galle Main Road, the Amari Galle features 172 rooms and suites, with base category rooms measuring 39 square meters. On the Food & Beverage front, the hotel offers two restaurants, a rooftop bar, and 372 square meters of indoor meeting and event space. Other facilities at the hotel include a swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa and a kids’ club. Amari Galle is the third hotel by Onyx Hospitality in Sri Lanka, as well as the group’s third Amari opening this year, following Amari Johor Bahru in Malaysia and Amari Yangshuo in China.

Melbourne to Welcome Novotel and ibis Dual-Brand Hotel

AccorHotels is set to launch Australia's first Novotel and ibis dual-brand hotel, the Novotel & ibis Melbourne Little Lonsdale Street, in late 2018. AccorHotels has struck a deal with Singapore-based Well Smart Group to open the properties in Melbourne’s city center. Featuring 270 premium economy guestrooms, the ibis will occupy the lower tier of a 36-storey tower, while the Novotel will take up 213 rooms in the upper tier. The shared facilities, including a lobby, two F&B outlets, a gym, and ten meeting and event venues, will be housed in floors in between the two hotels. Both hotels will also share back-of-house facilities, from kitchen to engineering, common areas, as well as staff in housekeeping and finance departments. With the opening of the Novotel and ibis Melbourne Little Lonsdale Street, AccorHotels’ supply in central Melbourne will grow to over 25 hotels and 3,600 rooms.

Courtyard Makes Its Debut in Hunan Province, China

Marriott International recently announced the opening of its first Courtyard hotel in Hunan Province, China. Featuring 260 guestrooms, the Courtyard Changsha South is located within CSCEC Plaza â€" which comprises high-end office buildings, a bank, entertainment facilities and other components â€" along Zhengtanpo Road, Yuhua District, Changsha. Food & Beverage outles at the hotel comprise an executive lounge, an all-dining restaurant with an open kitchen and three private dining rooms, a lobby lounge and a tea bar. The hotel is also equipped with 1,000 square metres of meeting space, including a grand ballroom and three function rooms. Courtyard Changsha South is only five minutes’ walk from the Taskin City Plaza; six kilometres from the Changsha South Railway Station; and 22 kilometres from the Changhua Huanghua International Airport.

Pan Pacific to Debut Serviced Suites in Indonesia

Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) plans to open its first serviced suites property in Indonesia. Slated to open by 2020, Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Jakarta will be located along Jalan Thamrin in the Central Business District. The 161-unit property will occupy levels 47 to 58 in the North Tower of Indonesia 1, an integrated development by PT China Sonangol Media Investment. Occupying a site area of nearly 19,000 square meters, Indonesia 1 comprises two towers of offices, serviced apartments, and commercial space with entertainment and retail offerings. PPHG recently launched the Pan Pacific Melbourne, while Pan Pacific Beijing and Pan Pacific Yangon are set to debut in their respective cities, this September.
