IHG announced the opening of Hotel Indigo Kaohsiung Central Park, bringing the premium boutique hotel brand’s unique appeal to Taiwan for the first time, expanding portfolio by signings two new projects in Taipei and Alishan.

As the sixth property of the Hotel Indigo brand in Greater China, Hotel Indigo Kaohsiung Central Park is also the first international branded hotel in the southern city of Kaohsiung. With 129 spacious guestrooms and suites, the hotel offers guests an authentic and personalised experience immersed in the culture and ambience of the local neighbourhood.

IHG also signed contracts for two new Hotel Indigo projects in Taipei and Alishan as the brand expands its footprint in Taiwan.

With 84 guestrooms, Hotel Indigo Alishan will be situated in the stunning Alishan National Scenic Area, becoming a preferred option for millions of tourists who visit the area annually.

Kenneth Macpherson, CEO, IHG Greater China, said: “Being in Taiwan for decades with multiple brands, IHG has gained sufficient local insights and established solid relations with our business partners. We have great confidence that Hotel Indigo will invigorate the market here in Taiwan and set a new standard for international boutique hotels that will delight our guests.”

IHG has a portfolio of six brands in Greater China, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, HUALUXE Hotels and Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts and Holiday Inn Express, with 277 opened hotels and 238 in the development pipeline by the end of the third quarter of 2016.

The arrival of Hotel Indigo will accelerate IHG’s development in Taiwan in addition to its brand presence in Taipei, Taichung and Tainan under the brands of Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts and Holiday Inn Express.
