Ronaldo is one of the richest athletes in the world who now wants to try his luck in the Hotel Business. Yes, that is correct. The news around the Portugese ace doesn’t stop there. He will also have an airport named after him.
According to the AFP reports, the ace striker inaugarated a hotel “CR7”, named after his initials and shirt number, on his native island of Madeira.
Now the main airport on the island will be named after “Cristiano Ronaldo”. The president of the Madeira region, Miguel Albuquerque, said that the airport would named to honour their favourite star.
“It’s a little strange. I never could have imagined that I would be a hotelier at the age of 31,” said Ronaldo, who stood on the rooftop of his hotel wearing a basketball cap. His hotel opened for business on July 1, 2016.
The legendary striker also has a museum built on the ground floor of his hotel. According to the sources, another “CR7” hotel is being planned for the year-end inauguration in Lisbon.
Two other hotels will open in Madrid and New York in 2017.
