A Telegraph Travel poll suggested this week that British travellers are concerned about visiting Paris, with 45 per cent of more than 6,000 readers now less likely to do so after last Saturday’s terror attacks.
The Paris Region Tourist Board and Voyages-sncf.com are joining forces for an unprecedented digital campaign in France and 9 European countries to jointly boost the attractiveness of our destination and increase travel to Paris and its region.
It's an innovative partnership between the leading operator in destination tourism promotion and the digital leader in tourism distribution.
Today, Paris Region is the world's number one tourist destination with 46.5 million visitors each year, and the economic impact of this sector directly affects 500,000 jobs.
For François Navarro, Managing Director of the Paris Region Tourist Board: "Paris as a destination is now determined to win back the French and European tourists who represent 75% of our visitors. The Paris Region Tourist Board is delighted to be able to do this with the leading rail operator. Encouraging French and European visitors to come to Paris by train is also in line with our objective of positioning Paris as the world's leading sustainable destination".
To boost the attractiveness of the region to French and European holidaymakers and business people, the Paris Region Tourist Board and Voyages-sncf.com have set up a partnership that covers the whole of France and 9 European countries.
This initiative is unprecedented in its scope and actions, and will create brand new synergies between the Paris Region Tourist Board's expertise in tourism services and its capacity to mobilise its partners to obtain special offers, and the digital distribution know-how of Voyages-sncf.com, particularly its ability to combine and widely promote content, rail transport services and tourist services.
All of this meets a series of quality indicators that are managed and measured in real time.
So as to attract more visitors to Paris and its region from this summer, a digital campaign will be deployed from May onwards in Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Russia, which are all directly connected to Paris by train.
