InterCityHotel launches its first presence in the Netherlands.

The InterCityHotel Enschede is situated next to the city's main railway station. The good connections it enjoys with the Dutch and German transport networks will make it an ideal location for business and leisure travellers alike.

It offers 126 rooms from the latest InterCityHotel generation, each at least 25m² in size, as well as a restaurant and Bistro Lounge.

As is usual with InterCityHotel, the cost of overnight accommodation includes the so-called FreeCityTicket, which enables guests to use local public transport free of charge.

The hotel has been designed by the Dutch architectural firm of Dick van Gameren. The building extends over eleven storeys above ground. Its unusual structure dictates that the main entrance, the reception, the lobby and the Bistro Lounge are all located on the second floor.

Project development was by Van Wijnen Holding N.V., one of the leading property development companies in the Netherlands.

Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of Steigenberger Hotels AG, stated: "The opening of the first InterCityHotel in the Netherlands means that this Steigenberger subsidiary now has a presence in three European countries. Expansion is also continuing at an international level. We will be opening the first InterCityHotel in Qingdao, China, before the end of the year, and further properties are planned for 2016 in Dubai and 2017 in Rotterdam."
