The tourism in Dubai is booming: during the last year about eleven million visitors travelled to the glittering metropolis at the Arabian Gulf, ten percent more than in 2012.
The Revpar (revenue per available room; an important index in the hospitality) increased by 10.1 percent as per a current hotel market report, which is a new record.
According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of global b2b hotel data, 78 new properties are currently in the pipeline.
A new highlight is the glamorous “Dubai Pearl” centre with five luxury hotels, thereof a Bellagio Hotel (200 rooms) and a MGM Grand Hotel (300 rooms), furthermore a Baccarat Hotel (200 rooms), Skylofts (20 double suites), a serviced apartment part (120 apartments) and a wellness hotel (211 rooms).
The Canadian hotel chain Four Seasons (Photo) prepares the opening of a resort with a spectacular architecture (237 rooms and suites) in this year’s October.
The vacation hotel arises in prime location at the upstream face of the “Dubai Festival City” and will also offer serviced apartments. Rosewood plans the opening of a luxury resort with 250 rooms and suites just a bit later.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts is currently planning a new property by its top luxury brand St. Regis with 241 rooms; opening is scheduled for mid-2016.
Furthermore two new hotels by the lifestyle brand W Hotels arise in Dubai with a total of 706 rooms. The completion is also planned for 2016.
