Rome and Madrid to welcome Hotel Indigo.

IHG is set to debut its boutique brand, Hotel Indigo®, in Italy with the opening of Hotel Indigo Rome – St George and in Madrid – Gran Via, a few steps from the most modern, vibrant and cosmopolitan strip in the Spanish capital.

Located on one of the most enchanting streets in Rome, Via Giulia, this premium hotel is right in the heart of the city's historic centre.

It is an area rich in history; Renaissance buildings in ochre and pistachio green line the road on which lays the church San Eligio, designed by Raphael. Inspiring artists and craftsmen have flocked to Via Giulia creating a hub of boutique shops and antique sellers. Guests can wonder at Claudio Valiani's beautiful micro mosaics, pick up a hand-stitched shirt from master tailor Luigi Tella or discover a new favourite artist at one of the many art galleries – all of which can be explored as part of the local neighbourhood. 

As IHG's boutique brand, every Hotel Indigo property is designed to reflect the local neighbourhood. From the building design to the hotel's artwork and locally inspired menus, every Hotel Indigo is unique to its surroundings, so no two hotels are the same. Hotel Indigo Rome – St. George's 64 bedrooms combine Renaissance features with contemporary Italian design, while echoing the artistic charm of the neighbourhood. Existing architectural elements such as stone walls, Roman paving, arches and thick pillars sit alongside contemporary Italian art, modern mosaic design and custom-made furniture.

Situated within walking distance of Campo de Fiori, Trastevere, Navona Square and the famous Vatican City, the hotel is an ideal base for exploring one of the oldest cities in Europe. Guests can relax in the hotel's Spa which includes a Roman bath, enjoy delicious Italian cuisine in the I Sofŕ di Via Giulia restaurant or, in the summer months, take in the spectacular views of St. Peter's Dome via the Roof Top Bar and Restaurant. All rooms, Standard, Executive and Executive Suites, are fully equipped with free Wi-Fi, docking stations, luxurious bathrobes and slippers, and premium 100% Egyptian cotton linen.

Hotel Indigo Rome – St. George will operate under a franchise agreement with Hotel Invest Italiana SRL. The Hotel Indigo brand was launched in the United States in 2004, making it one of IHG's youngest brands. Hotel Indigo Madrid – Gran Via's 85 individually designed rooms take inspiration from the history of the local area with unique accents and design features. Murals are visible throughout the hotel, showcasing well-known sites on Gran Via that reflect its energy and vitality. Furniture and interiors draw on eclectic architectural influences, from Art Deco to Baroque.

Guests of the new hotel can experience Madrid's glamorous lifestyle whilst sipping a signature cocktail from the stunning rooftop terrace. Moving downstairs to the Gastrobar & Restaurant, visitors can enjoy seasonal Mediterranean menus created by renowned chef, Andrea Tumbarello, alongside a diverse wine and cocktail list. Guests can also expect features such as free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and Nespresso machines in every room.
