Mexico marvels visitors as partner country of ITB 2014, Mongolia to partner in 2015.

Stunning dance displays, Mariachi concerts and Mayan rituals greeted visitors as they passed the stand of Mexico, taking part in the celebrations and excitement the country showed at being the partner country of ITB Berlin for this year.

Taking up more than 700 square meters in the exhibition hall, it was one of the more vibrant country displays on offer attracting crowds of people eager to see the offerings and to see what the Mexican Tourism Board had conjured up.

The choice of Mexico as partner country for 2014, said Mexico's tourism minister, Claudia Ruiz Massieu "sends out a clear message and underlines the country's importance as a travel destination and the awareness that Mexico and its destinations have in this important market."

This year's ITB Berlin also saw the announcement of the next country to take the prestigious position as partner country for the 2015 trade show. Mongolia was chosen to take on the role and earlier in the show, P. Altangerel, the state secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Mongolia and Christian Goeke, chief executive officer of Messe Berlin, signed an agreement to that effect.

Mongolia was already the Convention and Culture partner of ITB Berlin in 2011.

"In its role as the partner country of ITB Berlin 2015, Mongolia will be sending out a clear signal as an emergent tourism destination," said Goeke, of the decision. "We are confident that Mongolia with its wealth of cultural and natural attraction and its eventful history will successfully present itself to the international market and that it will attract keen interest from both trade visitors and the general public."
