ONYX to surpass 40th hotel opening.

Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group recently announced a number of hotel openings in evolving markets including; Bangladesh, China and Sri Lanka, as well as product developments and innovations across the brand portfolio.

Currently operating 35 hotels, with an inventory of more than 5,000 rooms, the developments serve to further strengthen the company’s reach in Asia and beyond.

Commenting on ONYX’s developments, Peter Henley, President and CEO said, “We are excited about celebrating this milestone year as we gear up to surpass our 40th hotel opening. With the recent openings of Grand Pujian Residence in Shanghai, China and Amari Buriram United in the north-east of Thailand, together with an additional six properties scheduled to open in 2014, our strong growth demonstrates our commitment to achieving our 2018 target to become one of Asia’s leading hospitality groups”.
Amari- Enters new markets and unveils newly enhanced Bangkok and Phuket properties
Amari Dhaka Bangladesh
Located 5km from Dhaka International Airport in the Business District of Gulshan, Amari Dhaka is scheduled to open in late 2014 and will feature 134 guest rooms and suites. Enhancements at Amari Watergate Bangkok and Amari Phuket
Following significant investments at Amari Phuket and Amari Watergate Bangkok, both properties are benefiting from a new look and feel. Amari Phuket recently premiered its contemporary design after an 18-month period of enhancements to its guest rooms, public areas, spa and restaurants.

Furthermore, the 948 square meter ballroom and meeting rooms at Amari Watergate were fully redesigned to unveil modern MICE facilities. The Executive Floor accommodation and grand deluxe rooms were also recently renovated in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Destination Amari… Perfected

Destination Amari was born out of a desire to inspire guests to embark on memorable voyages of discovery, exploring a destination's hidden depths. Launched late last year, the site includes a list of editorial picks from destination experts on where to eat, go, shop and play, in Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Koh Chang and Doha.

Complimentary WiFi Introduced

Convenient, high-speed, complimentary WiFi has now been introduced throughout all hotels, in guest rooms and public areas.

OZO- Four pipeline properties to debut

Building on a significant number of management signings in 2013, ONYX is uniquely positioned to capitalise on the increasing number of people looking for affordable mid-market hotels.
OZO Chaweng Samui- Opening March 2014
Offering 208 sleep inducing rooms and innovative communal zones, OZO Samui, set on a picturesque stretch of beach, will include a swimming pool, children’s pool, two restaurants; all day dining Eat, and Stacked; a contemporary restaurant and bar concept as well as a beach bar.

OZO Colombo- Opening Q2, 2014
Set within the suburban district of Marine Drive and facing the Indian Ocean, OZO Colombo is situated just a few minutes walk from the Galle Road and 10 minutes south of the city centre. The hotel will feature 158 guest rooms, Aqua function space, all day dining restaurant; Eat, and a sophisticated rooftop bar and lounge; On14.

OZO Pattaya- Opening Q2 2014
Located in the city centre within easy reach of Pattaya’s attractions, nightlife and beach, the property will feature 170-rooms and include a roof top swimming pool and restaurant, Tone fitness centre as well as an innovative ‘grab and go’ snack bar.

OZO Kandy Sri Lanka- Opening 2014
Located by the Kandy Lake, the hotel will offer 128 rooms and will include a swimming pool, gym and two restaurants.

Shama Heda Hangzhou- Q1, 2014
Catering to the various market needs in the serviced apartments sector, Asia’s leading serviced apartment provider is scheduled to open its first residence in Hangzhou, China; Shama Heda.
