Luxury hotel chain Nobu Hospitality announced the launch of its first hotel in Asia, to be located at the Philippine gambling and entertainment complex, City of Dreams Manila.
Gracing the event held in Manila were celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Hollywood producer Meir Teper, Nobu Hospitality CEO Trevor Horwel and Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro, who is also one of the investors behind Nobu Hotels.
Nobu Hospitality CEO Trevor Horwell, said: “in partnership with Melco Crown Philippines, we will be creating a unique five-star destination for Asian and international style-makers and trendsetters, with a stylish new experience of luxury and hospitality created on a bespoke basis for City of Dreams Manila’s target markets.”
The 321-room Nobu Hotel in Manila is bigger than the group’s Las Vegas property and is set to be the group’s biggest project so far. It will be one of the three luxury hotels in the 6.2ha complex.
The hotel will feature a Nobu Restaurant with an outdoor cabana-style dining terrace on an exclusive platform deck with views of the Manila Bay. It will also offer guests with the Nobu Tea Lounge in the lobby, Nobu Spa and fitness room on the raised platform deck.
The Nobu Hotel will be part of the $1.3 billion complex jointly-owned by Macau casino giant, Melco Crown and the Philippine’s SM Group. The complex will also feature Crown hotel, and another one which will be named in a few months.
