Wyndham Hotel Group has opened the Super 8 Fuzhou Jin Shan Wan Da, the brand's 500th property in China.

Nine years after the first Super 8 hotel opened in Beijing, the hotel brand, which provides quality and affordable accommodations for both business travelers and budget-conscious tourists, has made significant strides with a strong presence in almost 200 cities in China, cementing its position as an economy hotel leader in the country.

"This is a tremendous achievement for Wyndham Hotel Group and we are very proud of our dynamic team, franchisees and partners who have contributed to this important milestone in China," said John Valletta, president of the Super 8 brand.

"We will continue to collaborate with Super 8 Hotels (China) Co. Ltd. to capitalize on the opportunities inherent in the market to strengthen and expand the Super 8 brand."

Super 8 is one of the world's most iconic hotel chains with presence in over 2,300 locations around the world. The brand's rapid expansion is attributed to its successful franchising model as well as its adaptability to each diverse marketplace. Currently, Asia Pacific represents the largest operating region outside North America for both Super 8 and Wyndham Hotel Group as China's burgeoning economy encourages rapid growth.

The company's determined expansion in the region is supported by a combination of franchising and management models as well as close collaboration with each property owner to ensure the right brand fit is identified for each market and target customer. "The 500th property is a milestone indeed as it anchors our ambition to become the top provider of economy lodging for travelers in the country," expressed Han Chen, chief executive officer of Super 8 Hotels (China) Co. Ltd. The Super 8 Fuzhou Jin Shan Wan Da is operated by the same franchisee, Mr. Shuping Chen, who opened his first Super 8 hotel a year ago in Fuzhou.

"Shuping Chen is a fantastic example of how we nurture the meaningful relationships we establish with our partners," said Bob Loewen, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Wyndham Hotel Group. "Many of our franchisees have worked with us for years and choose to flag more of their properties with our world-renowned brands. These partners have a deep understanding of the culture and business landscape in their markets in addition to their experience with our company. Their collaboration on new opportunities is invaluable."

Super 8 Hotel Fuzhou Jin Shan Wan Da is situated close to the city's main tourist attractions including the Wushan Historic Scenic Area, the historic blocks San-Fang Qi-Xiang as well as the modern Haixia International Convention Centre and the famous commercial center of Wanda Plaza. Neighboring the Jinshan, Juzhouyuan and Fuwan industrial park, the hotel is ideally located for business and leisure travelers alike.

The 100-room property offers friendly service and clean rooms at affordable rates – all hallmarks of the Super 8 brand. Each room is equipped with LED television and amenities including free Wi-Fi access and continental breakfast. The property also features a meeting room, lobby lounge, breakfast room and private parking.
