Spain, despite the current economic difficulties, remains to be one of Europe`s tourism hot spots; the sun-kissed holiday destination expands its quality hospitality offering.
Currently 42 large top hotel projects with 84,000 rooms in total are under development. This data has been revealed from an international hotel market report issued by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of global b2b hotel data.
Between Barcelona and Madrid the entertainment areal "Gran Scala" with 32 casino hotels (8,000 rooms in total) and various amusement entities is currently under construction. The latest top hotel project is the Mobilona Space Hotel with 2,000 suites and apartments, which will be located on an artificial off-shore island opposite Barcelona.
The „Barcelona Island Project" is highly ambitious – not only shall the largest artificial island be created, the project plan also includes the construction of a footbridge connecting the hotel building on the island with the Catalonian capital on the main land.
The Mobilona space hotel will have the shape of a space rocket and measure 300 meter in height, making it the tallest hotel building in Europe. The entire investment volume for the 2,000 hotel suites and apartments will comprise round about 1.5 billion Euro.
The project is being run by Apogee Investors. The suites and apartments are put on the market for between 495,000 and 2.6 million Euro.
The penthouse shall even be priced between 3.9 and 20 million Euro.
When completed one overnight stay will cost from 300 up to 1,500 Euro. In the project pipeline are two other space theme hotels in Los Angeles and Hong Kong. An official start of construction and opening date has not been announced yet.
In Majorca two new luxurious hotel development projects will soon complete the tourism offering on the Spanish beautiful island: In top location nearby the sophisticated marina Portals the Kameha Bay Portals is currently under construction. This lifestyle design hotel offering 63 rooms and suites will have an exclusive boutique hotel atmosphere and already – before its official opening in early 2015 - member of the Leading Hotels of the World.
The "green hotel" will be equipped with the most modern environmental technology and includes a premium Spa offering medical health treatments and an outdoor pool. The hotel interior design is being created by the star designer Marcel Wanders.
The property will be operated by the Lifestyle Hospitality & Entertainment Group run by Carsten K. Rath, which already started the Kameha Grand in Bonn and develops a second Kameha Grand in Zürich, Switzerland.
