Monarch launches booking website for iPhone.

Leading scheduled leisure airline Monarch Airlines announces a further innovation to make booking easier for customers with the launch of a new mobile website designed specifically for the iPhone.

From 10 October customers will be able to search and buy all Monarch scheduled flights from their iPhones in a simple, user-friendly way. The new site also includes a mobile-optimised seat-map allowing customers to select their seats.

A log-in facility allows personal details, used in previous bookings, to be pre-populated on the booking form, saving customers’ time and keystrokes.  Payment can then be made using debit card or PayPal’s mobile payment process, both of which incur no booking fee, or credit card, to complete the booking.

Monarch’s popular Airpacks (Essentials and Extras) can be also booked via the new mobile site, allowing customers to see a transparent price for a flight as well as saving them valuable time during the booking process. Customers can choose between two Airpacks which combine extras such as allocated seating, hold baggage and access to online check-in.

Kevin George, Monarch Airlines’ Managing Director said:

“We are always looking at innovative ways to make our customers’ experience as easy and convenient as possible and the launch of our new mobile site for scheduled flight bookings meets this objective.

“We know that growing numbers of our customers want the ease of booking from their mobiles. We have prioritised our iPhone customer base as this has grown by 150% year on year and now makes up the vast majority of Monarch’s mobile traffic. Monarch Airlines has chosen to launch with a mobile website rather than develop a native app to provide existing mobile users of monarch.co.uk with a better and more convenient booking experience.”
