First hotel debuts iPhones in all rooms.

This month, OPUS Vancouver leads the travel industry technology evolution with the introduction of iPhones in every room.

OPUS Vancouver is the first hotel in the world to blend standard hotel phone functionality with the convenience and usability of an iPhone.

“Technology is a way of life today, not just a perk, and that holds true even while traveling. For the first time ever, guests can take their hotel phone off property, stay connected to the Internet, and receive and make phone calls,” said General Manager, Nicholas Gandossi.

Each iPhone is programmed with one touch contact to all hotel departments, while fully functioning as a personal mobile phone with Internet capabilities. All incoming and local calls are complimentary, saving international roaming fees for US and international travelers. Upon check out, all iPhones are automatically wiped clean by an application to ensure privacy and security.

OPUS Vancouver’s commitment to providing guests with the latest technology was made evident earlier this year with the completion of a multi-phase technology renovation. In March, OPUS Vancouver became the first hotel in Canada to offer an iPad 2 in every room, allowing guests to explore the city with an iPad Virtual Concierge.  In April, OPUS launched TELUS Optik TV, presenting guests the opportunity to experience a wide selection of HD television, movie and pay-per-view programming.
