InterContinental Hotels Group partners with Team IHG at WPP to deliver world class marketing and communications across the globe.
IHG will consolidate agency resources to ensure a better integration of global brand plans with the goal to increase both effectiveness and efficiency. Team IHG at WPP has been selected as the group best positioned to implement this consolidation.
“Many of the companies within the WPP group are seen as leaders across a number of marketing disciplines and we’re looking forward to working with them to deliver high impact marketing and communications to engage current and potential guests,” says Richard Solomons, Chief Executive Officer of IHG.
Driving a common strategic and creative platform for each brand in the IHG portfolio will yield more impact and better integration across the world. Team IHG at WPP will be partnering with IHG on both global and local levels helping the company to be more effective and efficient in executing all agency work including creative work, media planning and buying, social media, design, PR, market research and other marketing services for all IHG brands.
“IHG has an incredibly powerful portfolio of brands and we feel extremely privileged to be working with them on this scale to deliver world-class marketing campaigns that will drive efficiencies and consistency of messaging across all regions,” says Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive Officer of WPP.
Team IHG at WPP will start the new partnership building from the momentum created by the US$1 billion global relaunch of the Holiday Inn brand. Ogilvy & Mather will be leading this initial new effort globally. McCann, the agency that has been a strategic partner working with IHG over the past few years, played a critical role in this milestone for Holiday Inn as they created the first ever global advertising campaign by the brand.
IHG, one of the largest hotel companies in the world, franchises, leases, manages or owns over 4,500 hotels in nearly 100 countries and territories. IHG has nine hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, as well as our two newest brands, EVEN Hotels and HUALUXE Hotels & Resorts.
