Alliance announced to increase education opportunities for hospitality worldwide.

In a bid to ensure the quality of hospitality finance and technology education within the global hospitality industry, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals has formed an affiliation with the Hotel Controllers and Accountants Association of Hong Kong.

The goal of this new partnership is to combine resources that will increase their respective members access to quality education, networking and certification programs.

The affiliation, a first of its kind for both associations, will allow the two groups to share resources and provide support when needed. The associations are working together to provide synergized member benefits through online education, shared access to journals, certification programs, industry education events, financial accounting standardization and more. HCAA recently published the Hong Kong Guide to the 10th Edition of the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) and is working with HFTP on the new Global Hospitality Accounting System Users Guide (GHASUG).

"I am delighted to be able to sign this strategic association and thankful for the effort made by Mr. Frank Wolfe to see the vast potential as a result of this affiliation. As a result, members of both associations will be able to share a wealth of knowledge which in turn will continue to improve their professional abilities and their self esteem," said Clarence Shun Wah, chairman of HCAA.

"Hong Kong is a city in Asia where most of the international hotel management companies are present. It is also located in the gateway to China, where hotels are developing rapidly. We are in an unique position to contribute towards this massive hotel development in China by acting as a conduit or springboard, as well as by introducing and transferring expertise and knowledge which is available from other parts of the world."

“This is a terrific affiliation for us”, said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “As HFTP expands into Asia, we are delighted to work with one of the most professional organizations on the continent, HCAA. During HCAA’s 20th anniversary year, under the chairmanship of Mr. Clarence Shun Wah, HFTP is pleased to become closer aligned with HCAA, and this affiliation is a great next step. We look forward to a lengthy relationship.”
