Japan Airlines (JAL) will deploy a specially decorated aircraft on select domestic routes from May 27, 2012 to show support for the national team of sportspersons representing Japan at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games to be held in London this year.
A 777-200 aircraft from JAL's fleet (registration number: JA772J) will feature the official slogan of the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) - "Ganbare! Nippon!" (Go for it! Japan!) written in Japanese characters down the fuselage after the wing. Just beneath the stream of words are logos of JOC, the organization's official sports club partner Konami Sports and Life Co., Ltd, and official airline JAL.
Alongside the logos is the face of prominent two-time Olympic silver medalist for gymnastics and leader of the KONAMI Gymnastics Team Yohei Uchimura.
The special livery aircraft will be used on routes from Tokyo (Haneda) to Sapporo (Chitose), Osaka (Itami), Fukuoka and Okinawa (Naha) between May 27 and early September 2012.
