Hotels are constantly looking to make the stay for their guests as comfortable as possible and providers are looking for technological solutions to do that; Now, one provider is promising a 'magic button'.

Kevin O'Shaughnessy, CEO of Indigo, knows about saving customers time, money and energy. His company, Indigo, allows users to book their flight and transport from the airport to the hotel and do the check-in on one website.

Now Indigo is bringing together product developers and hoteliers to turn creative ideas into reality, O'Shaughnessy told 4hoteliers.

What is IndiGo about?

Kevin O'Shaughnessy: “When you arrive in a strange destination you want the red carpet rolled out for you. Our job is to make travel as comfortable as possible for passengers. We connect everything that is teach to the airport such as the hotel information system, the hotel’s website, app or third party distribution system.

We try to power the imagination of great product developers and engineers. We work with airlines and online travel agencies as well as young start-ups. They can take a great ground product of a hotel and add their own magic.

Could you give an example?

Kevin O'Shaughnessy: “Let’s say a hotel has an app and wants to add a magic button that would bring their guests from their room right through to the check-in area of the airport. We can power that.

Through us the guest would be able to find a taxi, compare it, and book it but with just one click. This could be through apps, smart TVs or a website. When someone presses the button “Taxi now please” we organize everything, we do all the stuff behind the scene.”

What holds the future?

Kevin O'Shaughnessy: “Imagine an app with which people can book a car, a restaurant and a car again. That’s an easy thing to do. But what about more crazy combinations?

Maybe somebody wants to hire a surf board for the afternoon, a hotel for the night and a car to the airport the next day. We could create such cross-selling platforms.”
